Unable to burn CDs using Finder on Mac OS X Panther05 Mar 2006 16:08 GMT5
When I insert a blank CD, I can choose to open Finder, but then no CD
burning folder appears. I am able to choose iTunes and burn audio CDs,
so the problem is most probably related to Finder. How do I
investigate/troubleshoot?

back when I used to use Windows.  These files are probably five years
Why does Safari use so much processor power?05 Mar 2006 04:18 GMT1
I have a G4 20" iMac 1.25 GHz running 10.4.5, and I use MenuMeters to keep
an eye on my processor usage.  Sometimes it is at 100% when I'm browsing
certain webpages (for example http://members.aol.com/bowermanb/101.html),
and when I open Activity Monitor it shows that Safari is the ...
Editing a folder or file name05 Mar 2006 02:43 GMT4
Is there any shortcut in 10.4 to rename or edit folders or file names? -
In Windows I'd use the F2 key to do this, on my Mac the slow double
click seems to be very clunky.

Desktop Pictures from Smart Folder: Possible?05 Mar 2006 02:22 GMT3
When choosing my Desktop Picture (OS X 10.4.5), I can choose a folder,
and then check "Change picture..." to get a nice rotating desktop.
But I can't choose a *Smart* folder, one made from a Spotlight query -
only a regular folder.

Selecting certain files in the Finder05 Mar 2006 00:07 GMT8
This is probably a silly question with a simple answer, but I'm
embarrased to say I'm stuck.
I have this folder with a whole lot of sub-folders, and I want to
delete all files ending with ".msf". Is there a way I can get finder to
Virtual PC7, VPC7 and huge image files04 Mar 2006 20:56 GMT3
I have two problems with Virtual CP7:
1. I cannot find the disk image ŒDisk1.vhdp¹ in the Finder.
2. The VPC file name ending Œ.vpc7¹ has grown to an enormous 6.1GB and yet
is almost empty, except for Windows XP and one or two small programs.

I must be overlooking something? I downloaded the RAR archiver, only
available as a command line utility. It sez I shd copy the files to
/usr/lib (mentions a few other choices too) but I cannot see the
/usr/lib directory. I have looked everywhere on my hard drive and

trouble. Would it be best to just suffer the increased cost and get an
