When I insert a blank CD, I can choose to open Finder, but then no CD
burning folder appears. I am able to choose iTunes and burn audio CDs,
so the problem is most probably related to Finder. How do I
investigate/troubleshoot?

ok.  I give up.  How does the software that comes with G4 laptop
access usnet?

Just was handed down a Dual g4/450/30gb 256 dvd plus studio display
from friend who said it works but only sporadically. cannot start the
machine. disconnected cord, changed cord to brand new one, press power,
no light, no fans, changed battery, reset pmu switch one, reseatted

Is i posible to run MAC OS X on a windows PC sutcha as a IBM or a HP
Laptop??

Hi folks.  Sorry to bother with this fairly obscure question, but I

I have a bunch of .max files that are scans from a Visioneer scanner

I have a G4 20" iMac 1.25 GHz running 10.4.5, and I use MenuMeters to keep
an eye on my processor usage.  Sometimes it is at 100% when I'm browsing
certain webpages (for example http://members.aol.com/bowermanb/101.html),
and when I open Activity Monitor it shows that Safari is the ...

Is there any shortcut in 10.4 to rename or edit folders or file names? -
In Windows I'd use the F2 key to do this, on my Mac the slow double
click seems to be very clunky.

Using Graphite G4 running Panther
Downoaded the latest version of FIREFOX and downloaded PDFs are no
longer opened automatically in Preview.
I get this explanation window:

When choosing my Desktop Picture (OS X 10.4.5), I can choose a folder,
and then check "Change picture..." to get a nice rotating desktop.
But I can't choose a *Smart* folder, one made from a Spotlight query -
only a regular folder.

I have two problems with Virtual CP7:
1. I cannot find the disk image ŒDisk1.vhdp¹ in the Finder.
2. The VPC file name ending Œ.vpc7¹ has grown to an enormous 6.1GB and yet
is almost empty, except for Windows XP and one or two small programs.

I'm looking to get rid of my PC and switch over to a mac, are the mac
mini's a realistic option, I know the cheapest model does not come with
wireless access and as it only has 2 usb ports I reckon I'd be in
trouble. Would it be best to just suffer the increased cost and get an
