What's the difference between /usr/bin/zip and archiving in the Finder? I noticed that /usr/bin/zip doesn't preserve the cretor/type IDs which can be verified SuperGet Info [aka sgi]. Archiving from the finder does preserve it. Is the latter using another zip mechanism? If so, where ...

I have a user who is getting repeated keychain prompts. The prompts are for the system's former user who isn't with the company anymore. I've gone into keychain manager and don't know what to do to get rid of these prompts.

Following on from my post yesterday, many thanks for the advice Alan. I have found the CD and booted to it. However, when I go into Disc First Air, it only lists the CD rom. Should I be seeing the hard drive in there?

For some reason, Windows Media Player isn't displaying video content. However, it *does* play the audio associated with a WMV file. Suggestions on how to fix?

In the lab we have an old MacIIcx (System 7.5), which is still used for some camera calibrations with some special software. Until now the acquired files were transfered via AppleTalk to another not-so-old Mac, with System 9.2.

I have a QS DP800 Mac that I cannot get running. When I attempt to boot the machine with a Tiger DVD, I get an error message stating that cpu1 is dead, system failure. As I see it, I need to either replace the cpu, or use the Mac as a boat
