Lacie Firewire DVD w-Lightscribe09 Mar 2006 13:13 GMT3
Have heard mixed reviews on this drive, as a
photographer I like the idea of being able directly
label Cd's and DVD's.
So are there any direct opinions here of why you do or don't like the
Removing other language support from HD09 Mar 2006 13:05 GMT10
I recently saw a post, I think in this group, about apps
that remove all the various translations on one's hard
drive, so as to recover a big chunk of disk space. Now
I can't find the post, and I haven't had much success

Of some strange reason, recently all my text files won't open
into TextEdit anymore, but instead they automatically launch

Need help uploading pictures to the web?09 Mar 2006 08:24 GMT1
There are some forums I want to post my photos to. What I need is,
opinions on the best way to go about doing this. I did a test and used
imagethrust.com. It posted the picture from my desktop to the forum.
But the picture was a thumbnail size. And the user had to click it, and
How can I change these options of the instant messaging field in Address Book?09 Mar 2006 08:20 GMT2
There are optional AIM, Jabber, MSN, ICQ and Yahoo, and I want to
change one of them.
Thank you!
.mov to .mpg09 Mar 2006 06:31 GMT7
I'm using iMovie to put clips of my baby girl together (OS 10.2.8), but my
mother-in-law (Win98) has suddenly been having trouble viewing the .mov
files (and I can't make the transcontinental trip to work on her
computer).  I was thinking maybe I could try converting them to ...
Printjob scheduling utility09 Mar 2006 04:08 GMT2
A colleague of mine is interested in scheduling largish printjobs to run
after hours, from OS 10.4.5, to an HP Color LaserJet. A bit of exploring
PrintCenter options amd CUPS options, searching on VersionTracker, and
googling on "printjob scheduling" hasn't turned up any likely
Command line access?09 Mar 2006 03:55 GMT6
I'm in 10.4.5.  Going in, I had the impression that I could get to a Unix
command line and use the commands from there.  I'm getting frustrated.  From
Terminal, I have been able to issue a single command only.  How do I get a
whole session with a command line?

Does anyone know of a script for importing entourage x mail and
contacts into apple mail 2?
Disable "Open At Login" Option09 Mar 2006 01:50 GMT1
Is is possible to disable this option? I work in an elementary school
where we are using a disk image to try to standardize all our OS X Macs.
The kids keep adding apps to the login sequence by using the "Control" +
"Click" method.
switch FN and CTRL keys08 Mar 2006 20:59 GMT2
Hi all!  Is there a way to switch the FN and CTRL keys on a MacBook Pro?
I use the control key a lot more than the function key and would like it
in the corner so it's easier to find.  Thanks in advance!

Hi, i am new to this group and mac world and i am planning to use some
space of my pc's hdd as an addition of ibook's 80gb space so;

Powerbook/cellphone combinations08 Mar 2006 06:18 GMT2
I've got a company-issue Powerbook G4 and Nextel i860 cellphone.
The two appear to be _completely_ incompatible. I can probably
justify changing cellphone provider to Cingular, and wonder if
better Mac OS X compatibility might be had.

Can anyone tell me what files in Safari and Mail to back up so
that when I reinstall Safari and Mail I don't have to go through the
hassle of reconfiguring all of my preferences, and so that I can save
all of my mail messages, bookmarks, etc.?
