So I ran into the dread "Incompatible Version of AFP" message when I tried to mount some volumes that sit on a 7100 running OS 8.6. Did some Googling. OS 8.x doesn't have the capability to use IP to share, so I guess I'll have to upgrade a totally stable machine to a later ...

I was cruisng eBay and found some mac servers for auction that had dual G5's, lots of memory, hard drive space, etc...and I was confused because they were selling for less than you can get a dual G5 Desktop tower. Do you know if there would be a reason to not buy the server
