OSX on PowerPC G318 Mar 2006 16:34 GMT6
I have a PowerPC G3 Desktop upgraded to 500mhz, 320 MB Ram, 40GB HD and a
USB Firewire card running system 9.2.1. I purchased the generic version of
OSX 10.3.4 on CD some time ago to upgrade my wife's 600MHZ imac from 10.2.8.
My question is: can I use 10.3.4 on my G3? If so, can I ...
Maxtor OneTouch frustration18 Mar 2006 15:50 GMT3
I'm usually good about dismounting the Maxtor icon before disconnecting
my PowerBook G4, but once I was rushed, and now I'm paying the price:
the OneTouch will no longer function. I've gone through the procedures
on their site: no go. I've tried to re-download their OS X driver

geek. He moved up from a G3 400/OS 8.6! Awesome, that iMac!
All legacy externals worked well except for the HP 880C printer. There

MAC Temp Files...18 Mar 2006 06:47 GMT3
I'm new to the Mac, having been using IBM clone PC's for 25 years. Anyway, I
went out a short while ago and bought a Mac Mini which I am very happy with.
One question though, in Windows XP there are several places where "temp"
files accumulate such as C:\Windows\Temp, is there a ...
volume disappears from desktop-why???18 Mar 2006 01:53 GMT7
I am running OS 10.3.9 on a 350 G4 Tower with 1MB RAM. I have 2
internal drives, one which is partitioned into 2 volumes. After I
installed Macromedia Studio MX 2004, one of the drives disappeared from
my desktop. If I open either of the remaining 2 partitions, I can

TextEdit Blues...17 Mar 2006 20:13 GMT6
Of some stupid & strange reason, all my text files will suddenly
not open into TextEdit anymore, but instead they automatically
launch Final Cut Pro.  Even the new files that I create with
TextEdit aren't recognized as text, not even by its own
Server Admin Tools for configuring non-servers17 Mar 2006 19:02 GMT1
I have a question. Is it possible to use Server Admin tools to
configure my local computer? And how?
I'm asking because I tried to install the tools after downloading them
from Apple homepage. It is like I need to start something before I

I'm considering buying one of the Canon iP4200, ip5200, or iP5200R for
my sister. Now, I'm trying to get her to move to Mac OS X, but for
now, she's still using Mac OS 9.
So, has anyone printed from Mac OS 9 to one of these printers? A web
