Can i get a Mac OS X client to log onto an NT domain?
I tried googling, and found all sorts of confusing pages, mainly about getting a Mac OS X server to accept PC clients.
I want to do the reverse.  I don't want to just access shared folders, I can do that already.
I want the ...
OS 9.2 will copy files instead of simply moving them19 Mar 2006 14:40 GMT3
Lately, in OS 9.2.2 I've found that instead of moving a file between
folders, the system will copy it instead. I'm not holding down the option
key when moving the file, which would normally cause a copy to be made
instead of a simple move. Is there some setting I can check about ...

Is USB printer sharing available in Tiger?19 Mar 2006 02:46 GMT2
At my office we recently took an HP 1200N printer off the network
because of crummy behavior from the jet direct box which made it
network-compatible. Instead, we connected it directly via USB to the Mac
(1GB DP) that primarily uses it. That's fine, and we have two other
Showing size of selected files in finder19 Mar 2006 01:46 GMT7
I would like to be able to see the collective size of a selected group
of files or folders.  Is this possible in finder?  I was able to do
this in Windows by showing the size of selected objects by selecting
"properties" for the selection or via the status bar.  Neither of these
replacing my StarMax19 Mar 2006 01:32 GMT14
My 1996 StarMax won't run OSX, so I want to replace it.   Price,
reliability, and the ability to run Classic software (so my Starmax can
be my backup computer) are important.
I bought a used G4 mini tower from a big dealer, but it was missing an
Have you ever considered of mousing ambidextrously?19 Mar 2006 00:53 GMT3

switched the mouse buttons in windows control panel, but it taked me
Duplex not working IP420018 Mar 2006 22:56 GMT1
I can't get duplex printing to work when printing more than 1 copy of a
document on my IP4200. Using WordX on an iMac G4/700 10.2.8 Jaguar.
If I ask for more than one copy, the printer does pg.1 on BOTH sides of
Sheet 1, then pg.2 on both sides of sheet 2 and so on. I have checked ...
Bridging on Mac18 Mar 2006 22:44 GMT11
Hello, everyone.  Don't know if this is the appropriate ng but my usenet
news server doesn't have a comp.os.mac.osx group.  Does anyone know how to
set up network bridging on a OSX/Tiger Mac equipped with two ethernet
interfaces?  I can readily do this on a FreeBSD platform but ...

Using iSight camera 24 x 7... Eventually Fails18 Mar 2006 20:07 GMT9
I have an application where I use an iSight camera to watch the control
panel of a heating system. EvoCam saves and emails small photos of the
control panel so the owner (at a distance) can see the state of the
furnace.
OS X 10.4.5 Hosed on G4 DP 533 ...  fixed but questions linger18 Mar 2006 18:33 GMT2
This actually happened about a week ago so some of the fine points may
be lost.  Nevertheless, here now my best recollection of the events:
After many moons of problem free operation, one of the partitions on
the referenced Mac went kerflooey.  Symptoms were the Finder just kept
OS X equivalent for "Bail"?18 Mar 2006 17:57 GMT7
In OS 7, 8, and 9, I've used a wonderful Control Panel called "Bail".
What it does is, if you click and hold the mouse button for a brief
period just after you've double-clicked to launch an app, the launch is
aborted.
iBook keyboard stopped working18 Mar 2006 17:01 GMT1
I just removed the airport card from my old 466 graphite iBook to my
newer 900 iceBook. Now the keyboard on the 466 iBook doesn't work. Any
ideas? I rebooted and now I don't know what else to try.
