What determines an Apple widget?22 Mar 2006 18:51 GMT5
Putting the widget in /Library/Widgets doesn't do it.  I replaced the
Google widget with the new one and Widget Manager does not show an apple
beside it.  It must get that information from somewhere.
Normally I wouldn't be fiddling with this except I don't want two Google

Is there good freeware or a demo app that allows one to chop elements

Any way to turn off mouse acceleration?22 Mar 2006 08:35 GMT2
The subject says it all.  I've never liked the mouse acceleration
feature, and in Windows I was always able to turn it off.  Since I
converted to Mac a couple years ago, I've been stuck with it.  On the
iBook mouse pad it's not so bad, but the wireless mouse on the iMac is
HP Officejet 7310xi All-in-one good news (for a change)22 Mar 2006 07:00 GMT1
When I originally got the Officejet 7310xi All-in-One close to a year
ago, it didn't take me long to conclude that I'd gotten a very mixed
bag. The image quality for color copies and photos was excellent and
the capacity of the scanner was acceptable, if not great. It accepted

Cpu Sleep is ending my internet connection?21 Mar 2006 20:27 GMT1
I have a dsl internet connection. Normally when I am connected to the

Sensible backup approach?21 Mar 2006 20:05 GMT12
I have a G5 with almost 4 TeraBytes of FireWire storage (all tucked
into a multi-drive tower). It had been running without a crash for the
past 18 months, which is lucky, because I still can't figure out, how
should a system like this be backed up? Writing 1000 DVDs at every
