Can OSX read MacOS 8 data CDs?22 Feb 2006 23:09 GMT2
Back when I had a Mac Quadra (I think I ran MacOS 8.1 on it) I stored
my files (images, text files etc.) to several CD-Rs, and I thought it
would be no problem transferring all that data to my Powerbook G4
(currently running MacOS 10.4.5), but although at first it *seems* like
Why does Xcode soak up the CPU?22 Feb 2006 22:23 GMT3
Every once in a while Xcode starts itself and completely soaks up the
CPU. It is maxed out until I manually kill it. What is the deal?

From the first day I bought my iMac G5, a window appears on the screen

I have Stuffit Delux 9.0.  Is that the same thing?  What's "engine"

Quicktime versions are best.
According to the Apple website, it appears Quicktime 7 and iTunes 6 are

Does anyone have a good review/opinion or comments on backup software
for OS X?
I know Dantz Retrospect has been the king, and I used it on my OS 8.6
machines, but was a little unhappy with it.

features? (such as faster speeds, "fast lane" etc)

I'm running 10.3.9 on a 20" 1.25 iMac G4 and just purchased two LaCie
250MB USB drives. I'm trying to run a RAID mirror, but anytime I try to
copy a file(s) *from* the mirror, it breaks with the following message

apple-tab / tab22 Feb 2006 12:31 GMT7
Is it possible to use the tab button in the same way as Windows?  That is,
to be able to go from control to control on a pop-up without using the
mouse?  Currently I'm noticing that I can't move focus from some controls to
others (like lists/drop-downs), and I have to use the ...

iTunes: "Part of a compilation"22 Feb 2006 11:23 GMT9
I recently posted a thread because I've been having problems with
