I'm revising my backup procedures and I'm interested what those in the
know recommend as the "best" way to restore their main OS X drive in a
"disaster."
I use Retrospect Backup v6 as my backup app. I backup to external FW

Is there away to acess the search box in itunes via a keyboard shortcut
instead of having to click on it?

Sorry if this has been asked and answered before. The Google matches I
found all dealt with removing OSX from the primary drive and/or
switching back to OS9 or something.

Do the application files in /Applications depend in any way on libraries
and files in the /usr directory, or are they autonomous and independent?
In other words is it possible to break them if some libraries or
binaries in /usr are changed or updated?

Is it possible to have a large "Apple ONLY" shop?
I am asking this question to see how macs compare to Windows and Linux in
the Enterprise.  I see that Apple does say that you can run a 'small'

All of a sudden, my iMac G4 (System 10.4.4) will not recognize CDs or
DVDs--blank or full, commercial or homemade. The disc tray goes in,
then I hear a light clunk-clunk sound repeated every few seconds, and

I once created a new user account and these black borders were gone,
but after a while they re-appeared. I can't set up a new account

Since upgrading to 10.4 I can't save documents as PDF. I need to output
certain documents logged as a root.
Can anyone suggest a solution?
