Apology11 Feb 2006 20:08 GMT9
A little while ago I posted a reply to a message from someone with an

aluminum foil helmets. This feeble attempt at humor was at the expense
of someone who is obviously suffering, and who needs medical ...

I recently had a hard disk replaced on my iMac G5. Before the

Now I have the G5 back, complete with new disk, and ugraded from 10.3.9
voice recorders???11 Feb 2006 15:54 GMT1
I recently purchased an iMac G5, on which is installed GarageBand. It
looks like a great application but it's obvious I'm going to need a book
to deal with it. I have two or three titles I can purchase... but first,
- does anyone know if I can use GarageBand as a voice recorder ...

How do I make a hybrid Mac/Pc data cdr?11 Feb 2006 02:19 GMT8
I am on OSX 10.3. And it seems Mac doesn't have a native program for
backing up a data disc. Are there any free programs that can make
hybrid data discs? It sucks that  Itunes can't do something simple like
this.
Mac browsers won't load a web page... hangs11 Feb 2006 01:27 GMT6
I'm a linux guy writing this for a Mac-user friend who is not computer savvy
and does not use usenet.
She is a graphic designer in a rural area. She uses a big G5 with OS-X but
not latest version... (she has the 'cat' just before tiger.) She uses
Reformat an iMac10 Feb 2006 22:47 GMT7

How do I reformat the hard drive and start clean?  She has removed all
iChat : insufficient badnwidth - connecting 2 machines on same router10 Feb 2006 21:55 GMT4
Is this error basically used whenever 2 clients can't connect?  I read
elsewhere that it often has nothing to do with actual bandwidth.
Should I be able to connect 2 machines for video chat if they are both
behind the same home router?  Would opening ports or UPnP ake a

Applications Appear Multiply in Open With Dialog -- Most Irritating!10 Feb 2006 19:01 GMT13
When I bring up the Open With dialog which gives me a list of possible
applications from which to choose many application names will appear a number
of times. This results in the list being much, much longer than it should be.
I really don't need to see five instances of Graphic ...

Indesign always loses links to server files10 Feb 2006 14:50 GMT11
[cross-posted: comp.publish.prepress, comp.sys.mac.system]
We have a network of Macs running OS10.3.9 and Indesign CS all feeding off
an NT server. For the most part this works fine but a strange problem has
arisen with two of the Mac workstations.
