| Strange problem with Finder and 4GB compact flash? | 15 Feb 2006 17:58 GMT | 5 |
I have been up using a 2GB lexar compact flash card in my SLR for photos until the last few days. It worked fine, Finder could be used to drag photos off to wherever, and then I'd process them with PS or whatever.

| Housekeeping Question | 15 Feb 2006 17:50 GMT | 6 |
I turn my G4 off each night. I try to remember to run MacJanitor each week or so, but sometimes forget. Will my Mac (OS 10.3.9) perform regular housekeeping if it just sleeps at night, or should I turn sleep off and just turn off the monitor?

Is anyone considering the purchase of a Lacie Porsche FireWire drive? Well, don't. It's not worth the aggravation. I bought 13 of these disks not too far back and they are all giving me grief. Part of the fault is the design of the

I'm trying to fix a friend's Cube after the HD failed, and I cannot get it to install OS 10.3 or 10.4 (haven't tried anything else). The install goes fine until it just stops (in the OS 10.3, this is usually at the Asian Language portion). I can install just fine with the same discs

I've got an old La Cie external SCSI CDR-CDRW burner (only 4X speed, as I recall!) which I would like to use in order to power a Pioneer DVR-107D that I've had in my G4 for awhile, as I'm going to throw a newer Pioneer in the G4 that I just purchased.

I posted a few days ago re: the munging of some OSX apps like iChat and iSync after installing the 10.4.4 combo updater, and I still haven't acquired a fix. In the meantime, I really need to be using iChat, so is there a kindly soul out there who wouldn't mind e-mailing it to me? ...
