Something for you networking experts to ponder when you have nothing better
to do.
Here's the lash up:
System A (mac mini)  <-- wireless -->  Linksys router <-- ethernet -->

I have setup five iMacs (2 G4s and 3 G5s) at five different locations.  
All systems have 10.4.4 installed, iSight cameras, and cable Internet
service with routers.  All iMacs can audio/video conference successfully
with each other through iChatAV except that the two G4 iMacs ...

Is anyone here using bochs IA-32 Emulator?
If so, care to comment on what for and what the performance seems to be
like.

We tried it today, and it worked like a charm.  Much easier than
mounting a remote volume via file share and copying files across.  At
least for the occasional need to share files, it is--if there is going
to be frequent exchanges, then mounting the remote volume and leaving it

I have an iMac G3 with the airport card installed.
Should I be able to connect to a Cisco Wireless Access Point? All of my
Windows systems can see the AP, but it doesn't appear on the Apple.
What am I doing wrong?

After I had my powerbook connected to my G4 via firewire so I could use
target disk mode to transfer some files I noticed that firewire is
listed, under network prefs, as a possible means of connecting to the
internet -- presumably that means one could use it so each computer

I followed a suggestion on this group and tried to rebuild my mailbox
that kept giving me the message that "mail has not been downloaded from
the server. Please go online to read mail." The rebuild erased all of
my messages! Not the solution I was looking for. Please help!

I am trying to repair permissions on my boot drive on an ibook 800 mhrz g4
running 10.3.9 build 7w98  mem 640MB
the progress bar moves to about 1/3 done and I get the above message
consistantly at what seems the same place.  

I'd rather not go to history and click home or click control H. Should
be an icon, no?

please what are all possible arguments you can pass to setContentType()
method? (not listed in Servlet API..) am esp interested in mime types
for media (video, audio) but out of curiosity would like to see a list
of all possible arguments that can be passed to this method..  ...

Stream a live company meeting presentation (person talking and showing
slides) to an audience of about 40-100 people over the Internet?

Has anyone been able to get Spotlight to open an alias to a network
drive without the drive already being mounted? I've tried putting
aliases all over--on the Desktop, in Documents, in my home folder, on

Is this possible? I downloaded Xounds and it doesn't seem possible to
do it with that.
