Laserwriter 360 and OS X26 Jan 2006 06:45 GMT2
For years, all the way from Sys 7 through Tiger and many Macs, we've had
a Laserwriter Select 360 on our home network (via AsanteTalk).  In
recent months, however, it began to drop off the ethernet.  For a while,
it would reappear if I reset (powr off/on) the printer, the ...
What's with all this image protection on apple.com?26 Jan 2006 04:32 GMT20
If you look at this page, http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/ , you'll see no
less than 4 different ways of protecting the images.  Do people really
steal these small images?  And are they really worth going to all this
trouble to protect them?  The methods employed are:
Color Matching using AppleWorks26 Jan 2006 03:17 GMT1
I'm having a problem with printing matched colors between two versions of
AppleWorks.  The printer is an Epson C60.  The computer is a Mac Mini with
OS 10.4.4 and 9.2.2 in Classic mode.
The artwork I'm printing includes a circle with a 4 color gradient fill.

No DOS or FAT format in 10.2.8 Disk Utility?25 Jan 2006 22:11 GMT3
Today I bought a USB ... uh, "disk"? One of those little 256MB memory cards
about the size of a small pack of gum that appear to the OS as a hard disk.
Anyway, since I'm going to be sharing it with Windows users, I figured I'd go
ahead and format it for FAT32 and just leave it ...
iMac G5 for sale ....25 Jan 2006 20:01 GMT2
Looks like my iMac G5 17" that I bought last summer will become surplus
equipment after Christmas.
It has the 3 year Apple extended warranty and all the paperwork (even the
original box).

My HC Soundsticks will not work when connected to my new Belkin USB 2.0

Anyone have any ideas why?
Thanks,
What Newsreader is best for Apple?25 Jan 2006 11:20 GMT22
I'm trying to make the jump from PC to Apple, but there are some snags
along the way. I've heard terrible reviews of Quicken for Mac and many
News readers. Both apparently crash a lot.
I haven't found a decent article on what Apple users use for News
/tmp directory messed up25 Jan 2006 08:12 GMT1
Some programs were crashing because they could not
create files in /tmp, and indeed the permissions
on that directory did not look normal.

Mail 2.0.x: default viewing as plain text?25 Jan 2006 07:25 GMT6
I would like to get Mail 2.0.x to display all messages regardless of
their format as Plain Text. There only seems to be an option to select
the preferred format when composing messages, but not when reading
received messages.
Apple Remote?25 Jan 2006 06:25 GMT2
So, the MacBook seems to come with a remote control, called "Apple
Remote". (http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/)
Can I get that for my powerbook? I couldn't find "Apple Remote" anywhere.
Thanks
