| Airport range | 27 Jan 2006 17:59 GMT | 16 |
A few days back I plugged in an Linksys wireless unit into our broadband router for us to use the same Internet connection in the building next door (20-25 meters). When I check the signals with my PC (Laptop, Dell, Windows with internal card) the signals is satisfactory, but I ...

I just got a hand-me down iMac 333. The system works great, except that the headhone ports don't work. I tried both ports and all I get is very feint sound from one of them and only when I increase volume all the way up. When I plug the phones in, the picture on the sound control ...

| Virus? | 27 Jan 2006 15:22 GMT | 1 |
Does anyone know the virus W.32.Goldunr.A? When downloading a .chm file (that can be read by Chmox) VirusBarrier gave me a warning and gmail too recognizes it. However, on the internet you won't find any reference to this virus apart from a discussion on a Russian site.

| Apple Mail delete confirmation | 27 Jan 2006 13:52 GMT | 3 |
Every time I delete mail of any kind when using Apple Mail I am told that "this action can not be undone and am I sure I want to do this". Is there any way of doing away with this warning. It is only a minor irritation, but an irritation none the less. Thanks

| Disappearing boot disk | 27 Jan 2006 13:10 GMT | 7 |
Shortly after upgrading to 10.4.4 (on an iMac G3 500Mhz DV), my boot disk disappeared from the desktop. It shows up in Disk Utility and Path Finder, and all of my folders and apps are still accessible. I can access folders on the disk through the Finder, because I have most of

On Jan 10th, my housemate and I each ordered a 17-inch iMac from the online Apple Store. We both ordered it with one 1-Gig memory card. She upgraded the drive to 250 gigs, and I ordered iWorks to be installed on the computer. Everything else about both computers was stock.

| Best way to change a username in OS X? | 27 Jan 2006 04:09 GMT | 16 |
Hi. What is the best way to change an existing username in OS X? I don't want to just create a new account, because the important thing to me is to preserve the UID. It looks like I could use the NetInfo Manager application to do it. But

| ITMS - Can't Buy Music | 27 Jan 2006 03:55 GMT | 4 |
This all of a sudden. I use the shopping-cart method. I put a couple of items in the cart and click "Buy." I get a dialog box saying "Your shopping cart's contents have changed." There is only one way to click it off -- a "Refresh" button. This brings up another dialog box that

| OS X on a 600MHz Smoke iMac | 27 Jan 2006 01:16 GMT | 9 |
We bought a 600Mhz iMac for my father-in-law some time ago and it came with both 9.2.2 and 10.1. The latter is unfit for public sale and gives his machine fits. 9.2.2 works beautifully but I suspect he wants the OS X bling, so I'm just going to buy it and send him the CD. Can a

| Old Airport -> Airport Express -> USB Printer? | 26 Jan 2006 23:30 GMT | 2 |
Current household setup is a DSL router, Ethernet-cabled to an old Airport antenna (Graphite or Snow? -- not sure which -- probably the earlier one), which talks wirelessly to several Mac iBook G4s under Panther or Tiger.
