I have always used Stuffit but it is too expensive for such an unreliable commercial program. I want to be able to compress and archive large files. Some larger than 4.3 gig so to burn them to DVD i need to segment them. Some of the files are .dv video files.

After I power it up, it sometimes doesn't even make it to the logon screen before abruptly shutting off. Other times it'll stay on for a few minutes after loggin on. Is this related to this issue:

I downloaded some h.264 content from apples web pages. http://www.apple.com/quicktime/guide/hd/bbc-andes.html I opened it in Quicktime 7 Pro and saved it to disk. I think I need to move this to iTunes then sync my iPod

I am not sure if this is a new problem or not. However, when I drag an application to any of my flash drives, I get the message that some/all of the files cannot be copied, then asking to stop or continue. I'm running 10.4.3 on both a G4 and G5.
