I'm not a novice on Powerbooks but this has me stumped.
Hardware: 17in Powerbook 1.5 GHz
Software: MacOS X 10.4.3 with all updates applied

Hi all, I have been hunting around the various groups and forum's for a

I have always used Stuffit but it is too expensive for such an
unreliable commercial program.  I want to be able to compress and
archive large files.  Some larger than 4.3 gig so to burn them to DVD i
need to segment them.  Some of the files are .dv video files.

After I power it up, it sometimes doesn't even make it to the logon
screen before abruptly shutting off. Other times it'll stay on for a
few minutes after loggin on.

I recently upgraded to 10.4.3 on a couple of machines and they both
have the same strange behavior.  One is a G4 Cube, the other is a G3
iBook, both with 10.4.3 and all relevant Software Updates.

UPDATE.  THE DOOR STARED WORKING.  THEN I INSTALLED 1.2 AND NOW THE TRAY
DOESN'T EJECT AGAIN.  IT SHOWS UP AS AN INSTALLED ATA DRIVE!  I BELIEVE

I am not sure if this is a new problem or not. However, when I drag an
application to any of my flash drives, I get the message that some/all
of the files cannot  be copied, then asking to stop or continue.
I'm running 10.4.3 on both a G4 and G5.

How do I upgrade from pine 4.58 to pine 4.64?  I downloaded a gunzip file
which I unzipped to pine4.64.tar.  I assumed that using the command
"tar -u  pine4.64" would upgrade the program.  But I get an error
message to the effect that 'Options 'Aru' are incompatible with '-f-'".  ...

able to print two-sided (duplex) when I print from the Mac Mini.
I have also an iBook on the home network and have the printer shared. I can
