converting a data base from Appleworks to Excel30 Jan 2006 22:20 GMT5
I have, over the years, made a list of my classical CDs on Appleworks
(now Version 6) I think it would be a good idea to transfer the data to
an excel file. I have Microsoft Office on my 1Ghz eMac running OS
10.3.9. I 'm unwilling to copy hundreds of records into a new program,
USB thumb drive in 8.530 Jan 2006 21:45 GMT1
A friend has an original Bondi iMac and needs to transfer lots of photo
files to her new iMacG5. I loaned her my Sony CD writer and a copy of
Toast. She did try to use a thumb drive in the USB port but it was not
recognized by the finder. Any way to make that happen?

Powerbook.  Transferring from a 40Gb hard drive to a 250Gb hard drive.
It seemed to work ok but this afternoon I've started getting disk full

anybody recommend the complier to use and where I can download it?

I was looking for a product to keep my mothers mac clean. My brother gave it

Apple Mail "no mail" sound30 Jan 2006 15:30 GMT3
When I check my mail manually and I have no mail, I get a high-pitched
shrieky alert sound. I have no idea where it came from, because the
sound isn't even in my list of sounds (System Preferences/Sound). I can
get rid of it by unchecking "play sounds for other mail actions" in ...

Repeatable, non-permanent Classic start-up noise30 Jan 2006 05:59 GMT4
About the time I noticed a potentially worrisome situation during some
Classic startups I saw a note here that made me think it could be
potential drive failure  (something about "clickity" noises) or maybe

Busy TruBlueEnv question30 Jan 2006 00:32 GMT5
I'm trying to figure out why my almost new powerbook (15 ", 1.67 GHz, 2
