Does aanyone know of anything I can do to restore my ability to allow me to force a shutdown/restart on my iMac G4 1.25 running Tiger? I lost the ability months ago (the OS kills all apps but sits at a solid colour background,no dock or menu forever).

I have a family DVD made from VHS tapes, the tapes are no longer available. I want to extract a scene from the DVD so I can work with it in iMovie. I have tried importing the DVD into iMovie, I get picture with no sound. Is this possible.

My new (Oct 2005) 17" powerbook often tries to shut down all by itself (without me telling it to). Most of the time one of the applications will stop it - but it is annoying.

I recently bought a G3 iMac for my granddaughter. It was a school surplus comuter and I bought it for her because of all of the educational software that's on it. I would like to upgrade the OS and add some software that I have but the HD and all of the control panels

I have the Tiger OS. Every time I put the Mac to sleep and then wake it up, I get a message box that says "The device you removed was not properly put away". This is driving me crazy. Any way to fix it? Chiffres

I am not talking about keychains. I want to lock folders on my desk top. So that in order to view the contents you have to enter a password. I have sepreate accounts for the kids. But locking up certain folders, with info I don't anyone seeing lets me sleep a little better
