Having had desktop Mac's for years, I never had to worry about batteries. Also, having had Mac's for years, I never had much of a manual come with them. A tri-fold of cardboard was usually all that was included.

I have a PBG3 Pismo and new ipod. The cable from the ipod is a split apple product using either usb2 or fw400. Is there a cable that will plug into the ipod cable fw400 end and then into the firewire 800 slot on the pcmcia card I have.

Hey. I have a 3rd generation eMac with a faulty screen (the warranty is void). I have a spare "19 TFT and hate seeing it go to waste. Does anyone know where I can find simple instructions to getting the eMac into an external case or something?

What is the logical reason to symlink the /etc directory to /private/etc. There has to be a benefit that I fail to understand. I notice that /tmp and /var are also symlinks to /private. Neither /etc directory is apparent from the GUI, but both are easily accessible from

Before running DW 3, Disk Utility reported nothing wrong. DW 3.0.3, run from the CD, tells me that the original directory is too badly damaged to be replaced by the new directory which it has created. Three times DW came to the same conclusion. I went back and examined it
