I like to get Ideas on the best place to buy A new G5 and 30 inch
display. My priorities are in the following order.
1 Returns if needed.
2 Service

I view lots of photos online. What I usually do  to view a picture. Is
right click the photo I want to see. Then scroll down to "open  image
in new window". The problem is Safari doesn't do that. Safari saves
every photo  that I try to open in a new window, to the damn desktop!

I've just been browsing the Mac website and looking at the new G5 iMac.
The $1299 17 inch seemed pretty good value. However I live in Japan so
my 2nd stop was at the Mac Japan site. There the price was around 2%
higher than the US, but hey, the keyboard isn't the standard US model ...

Beige G3, OS 9.0.4 or 9.1.
I recently got a PowerLogix 800 MHz ZIF because it wouldn't work in a
friend's Blue & White -- wouldn't even boot. I stuck it in my Beige G3,
where it works just fine. Almost.

I'm running OS 10.3.9. G4 came with CD/RW drive. I would like to add a
DVD read-only drive. Can an internal DVD-ROM drive be installed under
the CD/RW? All the Apple documentation I've read refers to this a a Zip
bay.

Has anybody been able to make htaccess/htpasswd files work in Mac OS X
Server 10.4 (Tiger)?? Nothing I found online works!!

What was the last version of Quicktime written for native OS 9.2.2?  I
have to update it on a really old G3 (280 Mhz or so).

I donwloaded a file which is DownloadReader.pkg. It's supposed to help
manage downloads. I no longer need it but can't get rid of it. When I
trash it I can't empty the trash because I get the message that  certain
files are locked. When I do a search for these items, I don't get ...

How can I add an RSS to my Safari? It comes with the preloaded ones and I
would like to add and delete some.

I want to receive faxes on my Mac, OS X Panther, 10.3.9.
What if the computer is in sleep mode? Will it get out of sleep mode and
receive the fax? Or do I have to have it in regular mode?

 I've sent several e-mails to the Apple Store, asking for an answer to:
"What version of Tiger (10.4.x) is Apple selling for someone who wants
to upgrade from Panther to Tiger. "
NO ANSWER.

I am a recent convert from PC to Mac...  still not sure I made the
right choice, but hoping all my Mac friends are right!
I just downloaded a Six Feet Under screensaver and it's a .bin file --
but when I doulbe click on it the Mac asks me what to open it with.

Let me guess, it only plays video in a proprietary format.
Just a hunch.

It looks like I'm trying to go the opposite way most people try to go.
I am trying to get the Gimp v2.2, installed and working on my iBook, to
display on a PC with an xserver(Starnet X-win32) installed and working.
(Note: all commands mentioned here are being run from an ssh session

I am a recent happy convert to apple mac after years in the microsoft
wilderness- I have two questions- 1 when i download items from the net
on safari how do i install them on to my i book?- 2 when i used a pc i
was able to use AVG free software as a virus checker can you suggest
