Library can not be copied to another disk01 Nov 2005 00:20 GMT4
I am trying to manually back up some folder to an external USB disk. But
when I drag the Library (in my home space) to the disk, I get a message
that "one or more files could not be copied". The message gives me a
choice to either stop or continue. I reluctantly click on the ...
Interface Builder at startup?31 Oct 2005 23:32 GMT3
I recently had a hard disk crash on my G4 PowerBook. Although the disk
was replaced and some of its contents retrieved, several GBs of valuable
data were missing. I decided that the only option was to go back to the
most recent Retrospect backup (end of August, as I have moved ...
QuickTime VR?31 Oct 2005 22:00 GMT1
Do my beady little eyes deceive me, or have Apple pretty well dropped
QuickTime VR? No mention anywhere at the QT sites, no mention of
authoring software, nothing.
Bummer really, just when I have a use for it.

purchase it but the GM of the store said it was unavailable. I will
describe as best as I can what it was maybe some one has seen it

Looking for Mac related forums31 Oct 2005 20:19 GMT5
Having searched through suitable Macintosh related newsgroups and seeing
that many of them aren't very active I'm wondering if there are any more
active web-forums for the topics I want to discuss.
Any good recommendations for forums where I can ask about:
Should I archive and install?31 Oct 2005 19:48 GMT2
My system has been screwed up since I had a power outage
a couple of weeks ago. I've had to reboot every 4 or 5 days
because the system gets so slow and the beachball of death
keeps showing up more and more often until it just stays.
iMac G5 MIDI31 Oct 2005 19:09 GMT3
I have a Casio digital piano and I was wondering if it would be overly
difficult to set up MIDI with it, GarageBand and the new iMac G5.
Thanks.

IPhoto book themes31 Oct 2005 12:47 GMT5
I'm not a Mac user yet but have a question regarding IPhoto. I like to
make photo books in Elements on my PC and have Kodak process them. I
like the themes in IPhoto but there are only about 8. Does any company
sell more? I think I'd get bored with just 8 as a choice. This is the

iChat preferences31 Oct 2005 08:08 GMT1
Is there a way to prevent iChat from doing audio?
I want it to stay text-only to make it less attractive
to immature children (plus give them more keyboard practice!)

Hi, hope someone can help.  I'm using an Imac G4 1Ghz, 17" screen running
Tiger 10.4.2.  I want to go back from Tiger 10.4.2 to Jaguar 10.2.8.
I can not boot from the Jaguar CD because it is an older OS than is

Repairing permissions31 Oct 2005 06:27 GMT2
Appple want startup disk permissions repaired from the DVD (To repair
your startup disk, start up from your Mac OS X Install disc (CD or DVD),
then choose Utilities>Disk Utility...).  What is missed if I just run DU
from the startp disk?  It seems to work OK and the one time I ...
Journalling under MacOS X 10.2.8 Jaguar31 Oct 2005 04:33 GMT15
I know that Journalling was implemented under Jaguar, but supposedly
improved to a great degree under Panther, as well as being enabled by
default at that point.
I am running MacOS X 10.2.8, Jaguar, on my beige G3.
