How do I get FireFox to automatically open dmg files I've downloaded (so I
don't have to figure out the name of the actual file and then hunt it down
and double-click on it)...?

Hello.  I'm a Windows guy, so this stuff is totally new to me.  A
friend has a Mac that stops in singleuser mode.  Message is to fsck and
mount, then reboot.  But it always stops in single user (rc.boot).
fsck says no errors

Clustered Mini questions24 Sep 2005 07:57 GMT2

output?  2 gb's of ram?  How much faster does it get?  Are 2 x 1.25 ghz
machines that are clustered equal to a 2.5 ghz machine?  What applications
benefit from clustering, if not all?  Any downsides?  Any ...
OS X 10.4 compatibility with Microsoft Remote Destop Connection24 Sep 2005 07:39 GMT17
I'm contemplating getting a Mac mini for my office and dumping my cumbersome
Win2K PC.  My problem is that I use an off-site server for my work and I
connect via broadband using Microsoft's Remote Desktop Connection utility.
I found Microsoft's version for the Mac OS X, but I ...
Free OS 10.4 Tiger24 Sep 2005 03:45 GMT1
As another thread suggested some OS DVD's will only work on specific
models...
I bought eMac 10.4 Tiger disks on eBay which will not install on my G3
iMac.  (Oddly enough my eMac OS Panther installed perfectly.)
10.3.9 Stable?24 Sep 2005 01:03 GMT4
I'm a late adopter  ;)  and still on 10.3.5.
Interested in recommendations re: 10.3.9
All OK with 10.3.5 but in purchasing the new iLife 5 (specifically for
iPhoto 5), I noted Apple recommends 10.3.6 or greater for some of the
Cups, Samba and NT_STATUS_NO_MEMORY23 Sep 2005 21:24 GMT1
I've recently been struggling to get a PowerBook running OSX 10.4.2 to
use a printer on a Linux box over Samba.
After going through the usual routine via OSX to setup the printer I
would get an error message that said, "Connection failed with error
Portable digital recorder?23 Sep 2005 21:24 GMT47
Is there such a thing as an i-Pod-like device that would let me make digital
recordings out in the field -- something that would work like a pocket-sized
cassette recorder, but save the sounds as WAV or AIFF files instead of
recordings on tape?
