I have a G4 os 10.4, which I only use 'remotely' (no monitor or keyboard or mouse). I have VNC and ssh installed / enabled. When I reboot, my IPFW settings (port 25, 110, and 5903 (SMTP/POP/VNC)

A couple of problems that may be related ... After installing Toast 6, the finder no longer recognizes when I put in a new CD-R. It doesn't come up with the "what do you want to do?" window; the disc just sits there.

Does anyone know why some (very few) .wmv files play correctly, while others play as a series of stills, and others play as audio only? I use OS 9.2. Thanks!

Does anyone knows if it is necessary for MAC to be defragmented. I downloaded a couple of mpg's and programs then eventually deleting them. Is it the same with Windows that u need to defrag your C drive in order to run your system faster?
