Mail on iBook06 Sep 2005 19:32 GMT1
On my iBook 800 I cannot get mail to accept signatures drop down menu.
I entered signatures and they show up in the window, but when I check
"signature" on a new message, it does not take. The signature block does
not show any of my signatures.

When X11 is installed on OS X, one still cannot run x86 Linux apps until
they are ported to OS X/PPC, correct?
Or, am I missing something?

TrueType Fonts Display Issues06 Sep 2005 04:22 GMT2
I just recently got a PowerBook and wanted to copy some of my TrueType
fonts that I have used in both Windows and Linux (like Tahoma and the
Bitstream Vera fonts). I've had no issues copying, installing, and using
the fonts except for *one* issue: the text displayed by those ...
FontAgent Pro vs. Font Book06 Sep 2005 04:14 GMT3
A participant in the Adobe Creative Suite forum is continually advising many
of those posting font related questions to use FontAgent Pro which he
describes as a "professional" font management tool as opposed to Font Book
which by inference becomes an "amateur" tool.

Backup w/ Retrospect to iMac G5 DVD?06 Sep 2005 03:31 GMT2
I've got a 20: iMag G5 w/ superdrive running Tiger.  I just got a copy of
Retrospect and dowloaded all the Tiger patches.
It doesn't look like Retrospect recognizes the DVD drive.  Has anybody used
Retrospect with the iMac built-in DVD drive?

I have a b/w G3 with a SCSI hard drive and ATI Rage 128 video card

extended HFS and also partitioned half for OS classic and half for OSX.

Blue & White Ethernet problem05 Sep 2005 18:00 GMT5
I have a small, very reliable 10baseT LAN. Recently I changed out its
failing 10baseT hub for a 10/100 autosensing switch (it was free).
Immediately, our Blue & White G3 began having serious packet loss
issues. All the other, older, Macs continued to work just fine.
Tiger network traffic monitoring05 Sep 2005 13:06 GMT2
NetSNMP is broken to hell as far as Tiger is concerned, shipped version
doesn't work and compiling my own with released patches from apple
didn't work (compile errors).
Anyone know a way to extract network traffic information from OS X,
