I am tring to upgrade the 160 MB hard drive with 1280 MB scsi. The problem is that the drive is not detected with Drive Set-Up. Can anyone help me in details ? Thank You very much in adsvance.

Using an iMac (1 gig, 15 inch flatscreen, lampshade) with Tiger, the modem is now having trouble hanging up between faxes (when sending) and I've been having to reboot each time to reset the modem. Is there any simpler, reliable way of hanging up the modem?

I know this is a dumb question, but what the hell. I have two 40 GB FireWire drives daisy-chained to my OS 10.3.9 laptop, which has about 20 GB total data on its internal HD. Every few days I do a Retrospect incremental backup to one of these and a SuperDuper!

My dual processor G5 has a Maxtor 160 GB hard drive that crashed with a repeating "whistle-click" sound. Apple will replace it but authorized attempted data recovery. I will remove the top cover and see if there is any obvious mechanical problem I can correct. Has anyone else tried

In the old mac OS I could email a plain old mac file to a mac user, but in OSX this does not seem to be the case. I always have to .sit, .zip, or .hqx a file before sending it these days. What a pain, but its life. John
