HELP: G3 B/W CD/DVD won't read anything11 Sep 2005 14:25 GMT1
Odd problem: upgraded a 350 mHz G3 from scratch (a friend gave me the

on it (2 partitions; 60 G each) using the built in DVD reader (no
writing possible). All was fine.
Login and logout slowerthan molasses in 10.3.911 Sep 2005 02:50 GMT4
For about a week, Finder takes two minutes or longer
to login, and at least one minute to log out.
I heard that disabling fonts the wrong way can cause this,
but I have not done so.  I can't think of any reason any

to select drivers for it, and as we found, the only way to print was to

Q: VHS to DVD conversion10 Sep 2005 19:03 GMT6
What is the easiest way to do this? The old VHS tapes of family etc are
starting to show their age so I'd like to transfer them to something a

something else? Suggestions and comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

I can see the advantage in using the "Public Key Authentication" (PKA)
system to make it difficult for outside "crackers" to break into my
Mac's network.
With conventional passwords, if the cracker succeeds in breaking into

Hello all .. I'm sure this is an extraordinarily simple problem, but I'm
