I have the firewall that comes with OS X turned on but I wanted
to know if this firewall has any logging capabilities. If so,
where are the logs found? I couldn't find anything obvious using

I don't know of a better place to start, but if there is one I will
appreciate being directed.

Share Multiple Volumes13 Sep 2005 23:58 GMT1
How can I share several Mac OS volumes with Windows users over a network. It
is clear that I can share anything that is in the Drop Box of my Public
folder, but this is far too limited.
I am running Mac OS 10.2.8.
Where did I get it?13 Sep 2005 23:39 GMT1
I created a project in AppleWorks a few years (and system rebuilds) back, and I
have just opened it back up.  The layout is all screwed up because the font I
was using, "FunctionLH", isn't on my system.  I can't seem to find this font in
my common software apps, but I must have ...

The more I upgrade, the worse my G3 gets.13 Sep 2005 20:05 GMT6
I'm really puzzled by the way my Beige G3 performance seems to get
worse the more I upgrade it.
I use it for audio recording and with the factory unit as-is (266/320),
could easily record 24 tracks of audio and then some.
When will we see digital hard drives and instant on Macs?13 Sep 2005 16:42 GMT4
I await the day when we shall see digital hard drives, instant on, and touch
screen macs.  Nasa has some of this technology.  My handheld PC is instant
on, touch screen, and has a digital hard drive, plus with a clamshell design
with a half Windows 98 os.  It has technology that ...
[10.3] What can clobber my machine name?13 Sep 2005 16:25 GMT3
This is odd.  When I opened a terminal session today, it was reporting
my hostname as: 000393ac7634  The Finder still reports the machine
name I set; 'sudo hostname' has no effect, searching NetInfo turns up
nothing.  I'm pretty stumped.
Video Card for Xserve?13 Sep 2005 16:00 GMT1
So I got in a couple Xserves, and they lack video cards. Can I drop in
a PCI FX5200
or MX4000 from the windows world and have them work? Or do I need one
of those Sonnet PCI cards?

Printer error, skipping every 5th line12 Sep 2005 21:18 GMT1
My sister is having a problem with Tiger, printers refuse to print every 5th
text line. It happens on 2 different printers and it happens in MS Word and
PDF.
Any ideas? I've never heard of this one.
