I needed to reformat and restore my hard drive.  Things seem pretty
much the way I would expect, with one exception.
I have a Quicken 2004 file (called "Our Accounts").  Prior to this
surgery, the Finder displayed as a Quicken document.  After restoring

I thought Bonjour was supposed to allow transparent networking (it
does) but also over the internet...I guess I am wrong about this?
ie. I have one computer in LA, one in NYC, both hooked up to broadband.
How can I back up files from one to the other?

Using Font Book I have created a number of font collections. What I find
weird is that if I do a Get Info on any of these collections it is identified
as being a "Bridge Collection file" and the default application to open them
is Adobe Bridge.

I am a relative newcomer to Macs - I've had a PowerBook G4 since March

How do i share files between a Mac and a pc using a direct link ethernet cable?
I have a Mac mini and a PC (XP SP2). Both connect via wireless network
to a router for internet. Both will connect with each other over the
same wireless network, but it is very slow.

I am am wondering if there is any way to back up my harddrive including
System, Library and Userfolders to multiple DVDs. I have Toast 7 which
can easily back-up most huge folders to multiple DVDs, but when I try

Hi. I'm trying to get an HP LaserJet 1022nw printer to work with OS X
and AirPort. This printer has wireless capability, but I can't get my
AirPort Extreme base station to see the printer wirelessly. I followed
the (unclear) directions.  Can anyone help?  Thanks.

I'm running OS X 10.3.9 on a G4 DP 1.25ghz machine...  I'm in the midst
of running Disk Utility on an external firewire drive (150gig).  It's
found an 'invalid node structure' and is repairing the catalog b-tree.
My question:  How long should this take?  

I have 9.2.2 and my startup are taking a very long time.  The initial
boot up looks fine then when it get to the desk top, it freezes for
about ten minutes after which it completes the startup.

One of my co-workers came to me today and pointed out some very
unhelpful behavior on the part of MacOS/X 10.4.
(1) Insert a blank CD/DVD
(2) Drag a folder full of files/folders to it.

I need an Office Suite that will work with Mac OS X and with an OCR that will
run under an Epson DX3850 printer.
I thought about the Mac version of Open Office.  Will this run with an OCR?
