My Microsoft Messenger does not scroll down as a conversation progresses and gets longer. I have to manually (with the mouse) scroll down the conversation. My older Messenger (pre Version 6.0.1) used to do this by itself. Why do I have to scroll down manually? Why won't it

Until a few weeks ago I was using Msn 5.x.x. without any problem except for the filetransfer speed. Now that I had to upgrade to 6.0.1, I CAN sign in but all the users appear offline.

While other people seem to trip up on getting Messenger to open, I have the interesting effect that when I want to open any Office app, I have to quit Messenger first (or the Word, for example, bounces twice, then stops bouncing and never opens).

It's bad enough having to put a piece of Microsoft software on a Mac, but to rub salt in to the wound every time I load up MSN messenger it places a little hard disk icon on my desktop. This does not disappear when the application is quit and has to be ejected.
