So it happened.
I am surprisingly unsurprised at the news.  These days I hardly care  
CPUs.  I am as CPU-blind ad "Color-blind" (in a politically correct

I've got a Perl CGI script that acts as a "system browser".
For example, it can look at files and directories and say
interesting things about them.  This works fine, as long as
the files are world-readable, but fails (because Apache runs

Would anyone be interested in attending a Perl BOF at WWDC?  Is
there something like this already in the works?

This is the first message that I send to this mailing list.  I tried  
to find something related in the archive, but couldn't find anything.
I used to use Perl scripts to do my ftp operations.  Here is an  
example of the scripts:

I updated to 10.4.1 not to long ago and ran a script I had been using  
with 10.3.x without problems. Now I was getting error messages that  
did not appear before. It was just some little things that were  
easily fixed, (I re-used some variables that I thought were scoped

It doesn't seem to work in Tiger . . . tried to open it but it doesn't
seem to be happening.  Sherm, does it work or will there be another
version optimized to work with 10.4?

I recently sent out some experimental code whose install script tries
to unpack, build, and install a (shipped) copy of YAML.pm, as:

I had to do a clean install on one of my systems of 10.3.9 and, of  
course, this wiped out my LWP modules. So I went to reinstall  
Bundle::LWP again and forgot to install Xcode (and the BSD SDK) first  
so, of course, the LWP installation failed. So I installed Xcode
