Sometimes, usually when I get to my desk in the morning, my mac has a
black screen with scrolling white text (that I've yet to actually
read). No way to stop it that I know of short of unplugging the
computer and starting back up.

I'm about to write a number of fairly simple perl scripts. They'll be
reading xml files. Unfortunately they've got to be installed on a
client machine that uses 10.1.5, owned by a fairly untechnical user.
