Interesting Mail.app incident24 Dec 2007 05:16 GMT2
I received, as per usual, a number of junk e-mails today.  One of them
was the usual fake "delivery unsuccessful" spam.  This one had my
username but not the correct domain name in the subject header.  What
was interesting is that Mail would not mark it as junk.  I'd mark it as

MT-Newswatcher feature request19 Dec 2007 23:49 GMT26
When I open a filter window in the filters list, I can see : This filter
has been used x times since xx/xx/xx (the creation date).
It would be great to know which date the filter has been used for the
last time. So it would be easiest to clean up filters that are not used
Mac to PC connection problem11 Dec 2007 18:40 GMT1
Here's my problem.  I've got a recent Imac running OSX 10.4, an old PC running
XP and a new PC running Vista.  They are all on a network in the same
workgroup.  I can connect to either PC from the Mac.  I can connect to the
Vista and Mac from the XP.  But the Vista machine can only ...
vnc connection06 Dec 2007 20:59 GMT5
I have been trying (mainly as an experiment, but because I later want to
connect to a remote machine) setting up a VNC connection between two
computers on a wired local network.
Vine Server (on a Powerbook) and Chicken of the VNC (on an Intel
VPN experience, anyone?06 Dec 2007 12:15 GMT1
Please relate your experience in setting-up and running a VPN for Mac.
Sounds too scary to attempt?
Leopard screen sharing06 Dec 2007 11:44 GMT1
Some time ago there was a long discussion on this newsgroup about VNC
connections, and the advisability of setting them up using SSH.
Leopard now has the screen sharing feature, which as far as I can gather
can replace older VNC connections.
Occasional MT-NewsWatcher Crashes on Intel Pro03 Dec 2007 06:39 GMT1
Every once in a while, MT-Newswatcher will crash on my Dual-Core
Intel Xeon Mac Pro tower when opening the article window for a
particular newsgroup. This is repeatable. It will keep crashing on
that newsgroup until I zero it out from the group window. It does
Text Encoding Error in MTNW03 Dec 2007 04:13 GMT2
Simon, I was premature in writing that the text encoding error was fixed
in 3.5.3b1.  Here is the error I received; it happens only when sending
a new message, and never when replying to a message or forwarding one:
Text encoding error.

Another unadvertised feature of Leopard02 Dec 2007 20:18 GMT32
Mail's preferences Accounts panel now has a checkbox "Use only this
server" for the SMTP server.  If you check that checkbox, then in an
outgoing message, there is a new menu to the right of the "From:" menu
that lists all your configured SMTP servers for you to choose from.
