I've discovered that many applications allow you to use Emacs-style
editing commands with the Control key -- C-b and C-b to go left and
right, C-a to go to the beginning of the line, C-k to kill the rest of
the line, etc.  Since it's available in a number of applications, I

  I'd really like to find a (non-.Mac) IMAP provider that works
reliably with Apple's Mail app.  Any recommendations?

Can Bonjour chats work over the internet, or are AIM and Jabber the only
options?

I'm having a confusing networking problem with my G5.  The config is
this:
Two iMac G5 (not intel), one with iSight, one without.  They both have
