I have several different Windows computers connected to an Actiontec GT701-WG (802.11G) wireless DSL gateway. I'm trying to connect my new MacBook (OS X, 10.4.8) to this network. I'm very experienced with Windows and a Mac newbie.

I'm a single-user and I have our firewalls set so that any and all file sharing is prohibited. (10.4.6 firewall and NetBarrier X4). We're currently on dial-up conection; however, I don't shut down our computer but merely "Log Out."

I got an Airport Express for Xmas and am mainly using and enjoying it as a way to play iTunes music including radio streams on my stereo. I was wondering if anyone has figured out a way to use other players than iTunes as a feed through to Airport Express.

Does anybody know whether there is such a beast? The reason I ask is that I have to control some industrial equipment via a serial connection. I would like to use a Mac mini, but the USB-Serial adapters I've tried aren't working with that particular equipment, due
