Hi. I have a clamshell with a 466 G3 processor, 576 RAM and a 7200 RPM 60 gig HD. I'm currently running 10.3.9, but I've been thinking about finally upgrading to Tiger. However, before I do so, I wanted to see if anyone has thoughts about whether the forthcoming Leopard would run ...

| What port does .Mac mail use? | 28 Nov 2006 02:34 GMT | 18 |
My ISP (Cox) blocks all outgoing email that's on port 25 if it's not on their own SMTP server. Which port does .Mac mail use? Can I still use .Mac mail, given that my ISP blocks outgoing mail on port 25?

| Can "Mail" quickly switch between ISPs? | 28 Nov 2006 02:27 GMT | 54 |
Is it possible for the OS X "Mail" application to quickly and easily switch between two different Internet Service Providers? My initial attempts to use Mail in this fashion failed, in so far as using the "Location" feature in the Apple menu was concerned.

| Can't create a DotMac account in Apple Mail | 26 Nov 2006 23:39 GMT | 1 |
It keeps saying the server mail.mac.com is not responding. However, I can check my .mac email through Apple's own site just fine. I've tried deleting all prefs for Apple Mail and starting all over again, but it still won't work. What am I doing wrong?

It's not available for download at Cisco's site. If you know where it can be downloaded that would be a big help. Thanks.

| Problems with wireless router serving both Mac (OS 10.4.8) and PC | 25 Nov 2006 10:47 GMT | 1 |
I'm online right now, at least, but I've encountered some problems recently in switching over from a plain old 4 port wired router (Linksys), which worked OK for years, to a wired/wireless router, in order to accomodate a Powerbook with Airport card. I first picked up a

| Intermittent WLAN access | 19 Nov 2006 14:25 GMT | 3 |
I set up my new DSL/WLAN yesterday and eventually got it to work with both my MacBook Pro and my old Windows laptop at the same time. Today I noticed an odd thing. The Windows machine has been off most of the time today and I never noticed this problem with it when I used it for

| Antenna for my airport extreme | 13 Nov 2006 20:40 GMT | 1 |
Hi all, I've seen online that you can get base stations for your apple - that allow you to extend the range of wireless that you are providing to others. But what about the opposite. My house-mate has set up a wireless access point in his room. And my other house-mate and I would

| Is there a future for Safari? | 12 Nov 2006 07:10 GMT | 9 |
Having a quick look at the Apple Leopard sneak peak, there doesn't seem to be much mention about Safari? I wonder if Apple are thinking / planning to scale back work on this and encourage people to use Firefox?

| port numbers | 10 Nov 2006 16:07 GMT | 5 |
I have two port numbers open on my Mac (10.4.7): 3827 and 5000. Not sure what they're used for. I think the first is unassigned (is that opened by iTunes?). The second is complex-main, which is the standard designation for port 5000 (in my list of ports), although I'm not sure

| Bizarre Airport Problem | 10 Nov 2006 15:35 GMT | 6 |
I have two machines on an Airport Express in my house connected to a cable modem. I rarely have any problems with the connection and when I do, a simple reboot of the cable modem/airport/computer fixes it. Tonight I came home and my work computer (Powerbook G4 OS 10.4.8)
