Modem failure30 May 2006 15:18 GMT6
The modem on my friend's iMac has stopped working. I'm wondering if this
is a permanent failure, needong a replacement modem (internal, external,
or broadband) or whether it just needs a kiss of life.
Details as follows.
Connecting to MSN Chat?28 May 2006 12:37 GMT3
Are there any Mac clients - either or both in OS 9 and OS X - that can connect
to MSN messenger?
I'm _guessing_ that iChat can't, is this correct?
Anything out there that works, even a kludge?
Airport Admin can't find internal Extreme28 May 2006 05:39 GMT5
Running a g4 Mac Mini with internal Airport extreme card.
It worked fine to share Internet connectivity with my g4 laptop,
so I think the hardware is ok in the factory default config.
The laptop was then able to share its connection with an ethernetted
Gmail Notifier28 May 2006 03:25 GMT1
I have been using the Gmail Notifier almost since it was originated.
Recentlly when I cllick "view all unread" in the menubar box, I am
linked only to a Google page showing "The page you requested is
invalid."
DSL, Ethernet, Printer, Routing, hubbing, switching...27 May 2006 14:24 GMT3
Got DSL connected yesterday; ethernet modem. Before this DSL,  I used
some apple software (LocalTalk bridge) on a spare 7600 to get an Apple
laser printer (4/600... LocalTalk only) going for my G4 QS 933. I used
a crossover ethernet cable I had lying around and it worked
Macbook pro logs plenty of errors on Airport23 May 2006 07:19 GMT1
I run a local network composed of an Airport Extreme and an Airport
Express associated in WDS, and a dozen machines coming and going daily.
We recently added a Macbook pro which behaved poorly from the start,
with e. g. much longer pings than everyone else.

Hi folks, hope I'm in the right place...
I've got an old iMac G3 350.  Looking to hook up to broadband/adsl

line is currently downstairs a long way away.  Is my machine compatible
Dasboard and port 1025 scanning?19 May 2006 20:38 GMT5
I take my recent Powerbook into work sometimes and attach it to the
network. Today I was told:
"the machine attempted to connect to UDP port 1025 on at least 20 machines
on the subnet, which consists mainly of Windows XP machines in <another

MT-Newswatcher and Intel19 May 2006 00:33 GMT8
For those like me still trying to use MT-NW on an Intel Mac--
I've found that it seems much more stable if I disable the "Check for
new articles every N minutes" feature in the app preferences (under
"Newsreading options".  Instead of automatic updates to the list of
eMac video problems18 May 2006 21:55 GMT3
I have an eMac 1.25 with a video problem. The upper left and right
corners of the display have a greenish blue hue to them. Is there an
adjustment for this problem or is it a video card/hardware problem?
Thanks
AT commands for Mac Mini16 May 2006 22:46 GMT3
I have a G4 Mini with a Jump internal modem and a MotorolaSM56K.kext
(v1.3.3)driver.  Apples V.92 script doesn't offer quick connect.  It
waits six seconds to start dialing and twenty seconds to disconnect.
I've been told to try my own script.  Where can if find a listing of the
Concealing sender's identity in email10 May 2006 23:47 GMT4
I don't know if anyone remembers me starting this thread a long while
ago (early Feb, sorry, unavoidably absent since then), but I was trying
to find out how an email could have no identifiers at all. To recap,
the email was from a friend, she's not on the same isp (or even on the
MT-NewsWatcher and Intel iMac09 May 2006 18:22 GMT131
I am thinking about buying a new iMac with the Intel processor and I
remember reading somewhere there was a problem with MT-NW on the new
Intel Mac's.
Anybody running MT-NW 3.4 on one of the new Intel Mac?   I am looking
How do I remove "Trusted" Wireless Network?08 May 2006 09:25 GMT8
I'm not always sure how it happens, but occasionally I find the PB G4 has
automatically connected to a neighbor's wireless network.  Perhaps it was
because mine was down, or I was visiting a distant city where I did not
have my own network.
