The modem on my friend's iMac has stopped working. I'm wondering if this
is a permanent failure, needong a replacement modem (internal, external,
or broadband) or whether it just needs a kiss of life.
Details as follows.

Are there any Mac clients - either or both in OS 9 and OS X - that can connect
to MSN messenger?
I'm _guessing_ that iChat can't, is this correct?
Anything out there that works, even a kludge?

I'm not always sure how it happens, but occasionally I find the PB G4 has
automatically connected to a neighbor's wireless network.  Perhaps it was
because mine was down, or I was visiting a distant city where I did not
have my own network.
