I'm using a 1.25 Mini and need pick up wireless internet from quite far
a way.  In a nutshell, could someone please mention the general
equipment I need to shop for?  Can anything be external connected to the
Mini with just a network cable?  Also, can I buy a switch that lets me

I have a Canon IP300 Pixma USB printer that's connected to an old PowerMac
OS9, which stays at home. I want to be able to print from my iBook G4 Tiger.
I just can't seem to see the printer from the G4.
I can, though, from another iBook G3 under OS9, either by using "USB Printer

I always assumed that, if you have a network consisting of nothing but
802.11g devices, then introducing an 802.11b-only device into the mix
would automatically drag the entire network down to 802.11b speeds. I
have a couple of questions about this:

The modem on my G4/450 with OS 9.2.1 is currently set to Apple Internal
56k Modem v.90 (makes sense, as that's exactly the hardware I have).
I've looked at the init string, and it's awfully long and complicated.
I'd like to know if there's a most efficient init string I could use ...

My colleague has a LC550 system 7.5, on which the floppy drive has just
died.  Is there a way to network it to a newer Mac (os x) to get the
files off of it?

I am the only Mac user in an office full of PCs. The office runs a
Microsoft Exchange server, and all I want to do is to configure Apple's
Mail application to be able to access/download mail from the Exchange
server. However, our IT guy hasn't figured it out yet.
