I'm using a 1.25 Mini and need pick up wireless internet from quite far
a way.  In a nutshell, could someone please mention the general
equipment I need to shop for?  Can anything be external connected to the
Mini with just a network cable?  Also, can I buy a switch that lets me

Understand what I'll need to do to reach the internet in France via
phone modem or wirelessly?  Also, should I use Yahoo mail or .Mac?  I
find .Mac slow here at home and am wondering whether I should just set
up a Yahoo account to download into my mail account on my iBook running

Airport Suddenly Not Working--Why?27 Mar 2006 21:07 GMT7
My sister manages a group of four offices. A couple years ago I set up an
Airport (one of the white saucer kind) in one of the offices which could be
accessed by a Mac in each of the offices. Things worked fine until today. Now
the two offices closest to the Airport receive a ...
Tiger: share a USB printer connected to OS926 Mar 2006 23:22 GMT6
I have a Canon IP300 Pixma USB printer that's connected to an old PowerMac
OS9, which stays at home. I want to be able to print from my iBook G4 Tiger.
I just can't seem to see the printer from the G4.
I can, though, from another iBook G3 under OS9, either by using "USB Printer

How do you get the complete videos
when they stop before finished?
They stop only a minute or two into the playing.
With flip4mac the videos stop shortly after beginning,
Intel question25 Mar 2006 20:58 GMT10
The MT-Newswatcher thread has me wondering.  Is the new intel machine going
to have much effect on existing programs?  I've been using Hogwasher now and
would like to continue so in the future but I am on the verge of a new
machine (maybe even tomorrow).   I'm assuming most will ...
Will 802.11b devices kill an 802.11g network?24 Mar 2006 04:30 GMT4
I always assumed that, if you have a network consisting of nothing but
802.11g devices, then introducing an 802.11b-only device into the mix
would automatically drag the entire network down to 802.11b speeds. I
have a couple of questions about this:
Modem init string help OS 9.2.123 Mar 2006 23:16 GMT3
The modem on my G4/450 with OS 9.2.1 is currently set to Apple Internal
56k Modem v.90 (makes sense, as that's exactly the hardware I have).
I've looked at the init string, and it's awfully long and complicated.
I'd like to know if there's a most efficient init string I could use ...
LC550, 7.5 ...data retrieval??21 Mar 2006 17:58 GMT4
My colleague has a LC550 system 7.5, on which the floppy drive has just
died.  Is there a way to network it to a newer Mac (os x) to get the
files off of it?
Safari19 Mar 2006 02:06 GMT9
I don't have Safari any longer on my 10.4.5 and want to reinstall it.  Can't
seem to find anywhere on the Apple site to get it other than the upgrades.
Is it possible to pull it off the Tiger disk or can I download it someplace?
Yes, I realize I shouldn't have dumped it but I ...
Wireless router revisited17 Mar 2006 05:13 GMT2
I was wandering in the new Home Depot today, and saw a Belkin Wireless
router with built-in four port switch for $39.95, so even though I had
decided not to bother with wireless, I bought it anyway.
The OS X easy setup utility they have does not work with the Intel Mac;
Apple Mail Barfs on Broken Outlook Html Emails16 Mar 2006 15:49 GMT1
Anyone know a fix for this?
Blighted individuals sending email from MS Outlook Express
are causing me problems, because the particular build they
use insists on adding two html tags.  This causes Apple Mail
Apple Mail & Exchange Servers16 Mar 2006 07:29 GMT2
I am the only Mac user in an office full of PCs. The office runs a
Microsoft Exchange server, and all I want to do is to configure Apple's
Mail application to be able to access/download mail from the Exchange
server. However, our IT guy hasn't figured it out yet.
