Problems connecting an Airport Card to a wireless G604T Router24 Oct 2005 18:26 GMT7
I have a PB Alu 17" 1,33 GHz with an AirPort Extreme card onboard and
10.3.8 installed.
I cannot succeed in making a wireless connection between AirPort Extreme
card and a D-Link G604T wireless router (all is OK via Ethernet cable).
Wireless for iBook G324 Oct 2005 16:35 GMT8
I have inherited an oldish iBook G3 (700MHz) with a 12"display. This little
machine is really handy and due to its small size can be brought everywhere.
I would like to add wireless capability to it but have noticed that the
original Airport card for this machine is hard to find. ...
I can't get XM radio online with Safari24 Oct 2005 08:22 GMT3
It says top download a windows media player. I did. But then it
wouldn't open unless I had the original installer, whaveter that means.
Can anyone help me out. What exactly do I have to do to get XM radio
online with Safari?
Apple Mail24 Oct 2005 05:16 GMT57
A rather junior question but it's been bugging me for too long.  I'm using
Apple mail Version 2.0.3 (734) and can't seem to turn off the html appearance
when I reply to mail messages.  I want to show > instead of lines to reply
text and I just can't seem to find out how.   Most ...

    True references based message threading.
Grouping of threads when sorting by date.
    Show/hide messages if read/unread/tagged.
Can't ssh to Mac mini?23 Oct 2005 05:41 GMT11
Hi. I have a Mac mini that I want to be able to ssh and rsync to.
Unfortunately I can't reach it, because from what I can tell, the mini
does not network itself until someone sits at it and logs in. (Good
thing it's in the same room...)
Imac lost net connection23 Oct 2005 04:14 GMT1
We just bought my wife a new 20-inch flat Imac yesterday, and got it all
set up and connected to the Internet. But shortly after she installed
Virtual PC, it lost its connection to the Internet. I've looked through
all the settings, and everything *looks* like it should work. Two ...
OS 8.6 connection22 Oct 2005 21:54 GMT4
I have an older iMac which I still love and cherish but it's now losing
connection frequently.  When I go into control panel and change the tcp/ip
settings to something else, then reset them to DHCP the connection returns.
Any idea to what is happening and is there a fix?  I've ...
Sending Attachments to PC Users22 Oct 2005 18:18 GMT7
I've always used Double Apple encoding when sending attachments but
recently we've found that sending to PC users a secondary file is
generated with a % at the start (I assume this is the mac file resource
code being dumped into another file at the PC end).
Airport vs Base Station?22 Oct 2005 03:09 GMT17
I've been very happy with an Airport "snow" base station for several
years. (This is at the office.) It works great -- no, perfectly -- with
both my laptops -- Apple and Windows.
I'm considering a new OS X Macintosh at home, and I'll want a wireless
Connecting a Mac OS 9.1 directly to the Net22 Oct 2005 00:10 GMT6
Even though I am more of a linux/PC kind of person, I own a mac OS 9.1
which I use for testing, design, etc (and because I like it :-)). I
actually have two questions:
1._ How do you set up your internet default gateway?
Web Page Problem21 Oct 2005 06:20 GMT5
I am cross-posting this since so few people seem to read CSMC.
I can't seem to get this page to render properly in any of my 3 browsers
(Firefox 1.07, iCab & Safari) with Firefox (incredibly) having the most
problems:
dat file question17 Oct 2005 16:12 GMT1
I sent some tasks from my outlook over to my Mac. When I received them
they were DAT files. How do I open them?
Verizon Wireless' "Broadband Access" Service16 Oct 2005 03:09 GMT12
Verizon recently added the San Francisco Bay Area as a market in which they
offer "Broadband Access."  Anyone who tried it with a Mac have an opinion on
how it works?  (It's not clear from their Web site, even, that it works with a
Mac.)  If it works well, I am considering dropping ...
Labelmaker question14 Oct 2005 16:31 GMT1
I used to have this little printer that just did mailing labels run
from software on my PC. The system is Windows only, however. Is there
any similar MAC-friendly product out there? Not looking for simply
software that lets me print on my printer -- but has a little external
