iBook & iMac OS28 Sep 2005 22:02 GMT5
I'm going to reinsall the OS for my G3 iMac and I have the original disk
but am wondering, what is the difference between the iBook/iMac?  I have
the OS-9 which came with the iBook and it's a cd not a dvd, so can I
install it on the iMac?

I have a customer that picked up 7 G3s from his school district that
were on the list of computers to be retired.  They have a password on
them, and no one knows at the school what the password was.  How do I
go in and reset the password to a default or remove it altogether.

What apps are you using to connect to your phone and back up the phonebook?
OnSync won't work with my phone. Confirmed with author that I'm at a dead end
with that solution.

saving and moving Mail messages to new machine21 Sep 2005 04:43 GMT6
A friend just bought a new G5 and wants to retrieve his old Mail
messages from a G4 Mac with Jaguar on it. What's the easiest (or safest)
way of doing this. He has an external drive he can use as an
intermediary device.

How to check airport antenna in clamshell iBook?19 Sep 2005 15:53 GMT1
This is about an iBook G3 300MHz model 406 (clamshell). I have added
recently an Airport card inside it. Problem: the range is about 2 meters
from the wifi router. Short, isn't it? within that range the connection is
OK, so I guess the software is OK.

Old G3 running 8.6 doesn't work with Airport Extreme Base Station?17 Sep 2005 18:33 GMT2
Hi. I'm trying to connect an old G3 beige (G3 tower/333MHz/OS 8.6) Mac
to my Airport Extreme Base Station. I plugged it into the LAN port on
the base station, and in OS 8.6's TCP/IP control panel, I selected
"Connect via Ethernet" and "Configure using DHCP server."
