One advantage of V.92 is supposed to be that if your modem has dialed
number with a V.92 modem, it will remember, connections at that number
will take half as long.
I have a V.92 modem and script.  My ISP says my dialup number is V.92.

I am a new Mac guy and I just recently purchased an iBook with a
Wireless Airport card back in September from the Apple store.  I have a
wireless PC network at home and everything is configured to allow my
Mac to have internet access.  The problem is the weak signal I get when

Once when I called an ISP's technical support about disconnects, the
tech told me to cut back the speed of my serial port.   It may have been
in the modem control panel.
I've checked OS 9.1 and 8.6 and can't find any panel that refers to
