Timeouts in Unison18 Apr 2005 20:32 GMT1
Does anyone else get a lot of timeouts in Unison?  It seems as if I
can't read 5 messages in a row in Unison without losing contact with
the news server.  Any help would be much appreciated.
Jabber and Tiger iChat18 Apr 2005 03:15 GMT1
The version of iChat that ships with Tiger, apparently supports Jabber.
Does this mean that you will be able to use iChat to talk to people on
MSN?

My newsreader, Hogwasher 4.2.2 has a subscription defined which contains the

I have no problems reading these two newsgroups through my SBC DSL account.
Help, very frustrated.17 Apr 2005 17:17 GMT1
I bought a new ibook G4 last fall in order to put my very old PC
(Microsoft) retired. Unfortunately, I can not connect the internet
with my ibook G4. I have been using Netzero internet with my old PC

Connecting an HP 340 Printer to an iMac G315 Apr 2005 18:18 GMT3
I am attempting to hook up my old HP 340 Deskjet printer to my wife's
slot-loading iMac G3. The adapter cable that shipped with the printer
is a special Parallel-to-Serial cable specially designed to work with
older serial port Macs (I used it originally on an LC II).
mac-friendly dial-up ISP15 Apr 2005 06:55 GMT3
A friend in Oakland, California has access-4-free as her ISP, mainly
because they were one of the few who stated that it was possible to use
OS 7.5 on their Mac.
She's recently got an iMac running 9.1, which offers more choice. And
using MT NewsWatcher with Comcast newsgroups15 Apr 2005 06:41 GMT6
Is anyone out there successfully using MT NewsWatcher on their Comcast
cable Internet connection? I've used MT NewsWatcher for years and love
it. But I just got cable Internet with Comcast and can't get NewsWatcher
to log into the Comcast news server. It works fine with my old ...

Anybody switched back to Eudora from Mail.app?12 Apr 2005 08:54 GMT20
I'm beginning to get a bit tired of Qualcom's lack commitment to the
Mac version (several bugs are years old, lack of real OS X support,
poor tech support, etc., but that's another thread.) plus I have a
need to deal with S/MIME support, so I'm really looking at biting the
