Does anyone else get a lot of timeouts in Unison? It seems as if I can't read 5 messages in a row in Unison without losing contact with the news server. Any help would be much appreciated.

The version of iChat that ships with Tiger, apparently supports Jabber. Does this mean that you will be able to use iChat to talk to people on MSN?

My newsreader, Hogwasher 4.2.2 has a subscription defined which contains the following two newsgroups: <microsoft.public.virtualpc> and <microsoft.public.mac.virtualpc>. I have no problems reading these two newsgroups through my SBC DSL account.

In Fink two bitchx's are listed - one with -gtk on the end. I cannot find any info as to what gtk means or what the difference is. Does anyone here have a clue? TIA,

I am attempting to hook up my old HP 340 Deskjet printer to my wife's slot-loading iMac G3. The adapter cable that shipped with the printer is a special Parallel-to-Serial cable specially designed to work with older serial port Macs (I used it originally on an LC II).

Whenever I telnet into any Cisco equipment from Mac OSX, I need to use the -K switch. ie telnet -K a.b.c.d Don't need to do this from Windows telnet. Why do I need the -K switch?
