Connecting to the Internet via mobile phone16 Mar 2005 18:49 GMT4
I would like to have the capability to connect to the internet via
mobile phone. The phone I am considering (Motorola V180) has a mini USB
port. Is there a way to connect to my iBook's internal modem via the USB
port?
Cellphone with good Mac connections..15 Mar 2005 11:45 GMT20
Can anyone recommend a mobile phone that connects easily to their Macs,
be it via Bluetooth, USB, memory card, etc? Newer mobiles all have
cameras so I thought I should find one that downloads the photos to my
Mac (G4 tower) easily.
Wireless Connectioin -- Curiosity Question15 Mar 2005 00:26 GMT8
I have a Linksys wireless router set up so that two separate Macs can
simultaneously access the internet via a cable modem. What I would like to
know is if it is possible to determine who at a moment is connected via the
router. I have no objections if others in the building are ...
Filemaker Applications Task & Meetings14 Mar 2005 19:53 GMT1
I'm using both Tasks and Meetings. When it comes to customizing the
apps - as Filemaker claims you can - I can't get any info from
Filemaker on how to do this.  Information entered into either program
seems to be available to both.  For example, "Contacts" added to Tasks
Prevent Airport from joining a specific network13 Mar 2005 20:05 GMT2
Is there a way to prevent an airport enabled machine from joining a
specific network? My neighbor has a really strong signal and my ibook
keeps jumping from my network to his.
TIA
Linksys wrt54g - which WPA setting13 Mar 2005 00:54 GMT4
Howdy.     I'm hooking up a linksys wireless router to my cabled mac in
anticipation of the airport extreme mac on order (if the apple store
ever gets off it's butt, but that's another thread  :)
Everyone says setting up WPA security is the better choice, but the
FTP and Router Settings12 Mar 2005 19:25 GMT5
I have Verizon DSL (PPPoE), which I run through a Linksys router.  It's
always worked very well - until recently, when my Verizon FTP access
suddenly vanished.  Whenever I try to upload to my Verizon web space, I
get an error - "Login Incorrect".  The login and password are correct.
Arrg, Stung Again by New Software (Timbuktu 8.0.1)10 Mar 2005 21:46 GMT7
Why, why, why do we have to effectively be beta-testers new software?
Lately, it would really surprise me if  _any_  software worked, right
out of the box.
I was looking forward to the newest remote-control software "Timbuktu"
Junk mail rule problem10 Mar 2005 00:00 GMT4
I have a problem in that the junk mail rule does not work for one of my
accounts.  It does not mark any mail in that account as junk.  Mail
coming in to any of the other accounts is properly marked as junk,
though.  Unfortunately, the account with this problem is my primary
General Timbuktu Questions07 Mar 2005 20:14 GMT9
I am playing with the remote-control program Timbuktu (TB2), trying to
get various things working.  So far, no luck.

[ANN] MacSOUP 2.7 (final) available07 Mar 2005 19:15 GMT7
The final 2.7 version of MacSOUP is available.
For those upgrading from 2.6:
- Deleting or purging articles from very large groups used to be so
slow as to be unusable. This is now almost as fast as for
Connecting Airport Extreme to Verizon DSL Modem06 Mar 2005 21:54 GMT20
We've been running an Airport Extreme network for over a year with no
problems. The hardware is the AE base station, a G3 iBook, a G4 iMac and
an HP photosmart 7660 printer. Until now we've used the dial-up modem in
the AE base station for internet access.
Safari windows06 Mar 2005 17:22 GMT4
OK, I've found in the Preferences:General the three choices for 'Remove
download list items:'. What I don't find, and what I want, is for the
Download window to close when the d/l is complete. Am I missing
something, or is that option just not available?
Help! Can't get newsgroups on SBC DSL06 Mar 2005 15:12 GMT5
SBC tech support has been worse than useless. (They've outsourced tech
support -- maybe to India. Have you ever noticed that everybody on the
Indian subcontinent is named "Dave"?) With SBC DSL, I can get on the
internet, I can get my email from a variety of servers. I can send my ...
Usenet Moderation Tools-Programs?06 Mar 2005 13:45 GMT7
Any moderation tools or applications for Usenet available for Mac OS 9?
I may be asked to assist moderating a Usenet newsroup but cannot seem
to locate any Macoriented programs for this task.
Thanks
