What is "Interference Robustness".  There is a checkbox in the airport
icon for this.  Does this attenuate the wireless signal?
Apple message framework setting30 Dec 2004 01:50 GMT5
I'm trying to set up the email prefs for IPNetSentryX. Their support says:
"IPNetSentryX uses Apple's built-in message framework for sending Email.
The built-in message framework is normally configured from the Email
tab of the Internet Preferences panel (which mysteriously ...
Mail.app Phantom Response28 Dec 2004 05:49 GMT9
Here's a strange one...  whenever I receive an email from a certain aol
customer and hit the reply button nothing apparently happens.  However
if I quit Mail and relaunch, the addressed reply message window is open
but without any body text and a draft now shows in the draft box.
Modem issues, maybe27 Dec 2004 12:21 GMT5
I'm trying to diagnose problems with a friend's machine, which is
difficult at long distance.
Iy's a very old Mac, running system 7.5 and an external modem. She tells
me that she often gets the message "cannot connect, no dial tone". The

My father-in-law uses Outlook Express 5 for OS 9. He recently upgraded
to Panther and OE will no longer recognize his previous OE identity.
I've tried both the "switch identity" and "import mailbox" commands and
they don't work. Switch identity just shows a "welcome to Outlook"
OSX - Win2K Networking Problem25 Dec 2004 19:47 GMT1
I am trying to network my PowerMac G5 with a Windows 2000 PC using a
crossover cable. I know the cable works because I had it connecting two
PCs successfully. Furthermore, I know the hardware on each computer
works, because packets are being sent and received.
Airport Extreme- getting the same LAN IP every time25 Dec 2004 12:34 GMT1
Is there a way I can force my 2 Macs to always acquire the same IP address
from the Airport DHCP? I've tried setting it to something using "Manually"
in network prefpane but I lose the internet.
Any tricks to it?
MacOS X 10.2.8 driver for AirPlus DWL-120+ USB Adapter?25 Dec 2004 03:47 GMT2
Are there any MacOS X 10.2.8 drivers for D-Link AirPlus DWL-120+ USB
Adapter? http://support.dlink.com/products/view.asp?productid=DWL%2D120%2B
doesn't show support drivers. I find this wireless client is a lot stronger
than Airport in my old PowerBook G4 (15"; 1 Ghz). I would ...
Nokia modem drivers for Mac?24 Dec 2004 21:22 GMT8
Nokia currently has wireless modem drivers only for Windows OS's for the
Nokia 6015i.
Are there any public-domain drivers for OS X available? Sometimes a driver
will work for several models of phone, so if there are OS X drivers for other
Modem won't dial after waking from sleep24 Dec 2004 16:49 GMT1
When I wake the PB from sleep and attempt to dial up an internet connection,
I get "A modem error occurred." No numbers, etc, just the message. It doesn't
even attempt to dial.
After anywhere from 2 to 4 attempts, it will succeed in dialing.
Keep losing Server23 Dec 2004 20:40 GMT1
Got a new Imac with Airport Extreme card running on my wireless G
network, (DSL). Also have a wireless PC laptop and wired desktop PC
on the network. Both of the PCs work fine, never lose connection.
The Imac always has a strong (excellent) signal but frequently just
MacSOUP still the best offline newsreader?23 Dec 2004 19:48 GMT6
I'm a long time MacSOUP user (forced to temporarily use Google Groups
thanks to my hopeless freaking ISP's news server... but that's another
story) for both Usenet and email. I love MacSOUP's threaded display
for news and email and offline capability.
PCMCIA On An iBook22 Dec 2004 23:25 GMT1
I just ran across this on the web: "CMS (TNU-PCMCIA) PC Card Adapter"
(do a Google search on the string). It appears to be a way to add a
PCMCIA card to a laptop with a USB connector.
If it works, it would be a way to use older cellphones (and other

preferred airport network forgotten on awakening22 Dec 2004 06:23 GMT4
I am helping two friends, one with an iMac, 10.3.5, and the other with
an iBook, 10.2.X who have problems with their computer forgetting their
airport (WEP) password on awakening. The often connect to some random
network in the neighborhood at lower strength, and on the wrong ...
