Here's the situation -- at work I have a PC running WinXP pro, and the networking software is Novell Netware. I cannot figure out how the computer gets its IP address -- the Network control panel that I'm familiar with in XP Home is completely different and I do not see a selection ...

I am having difficulty with new cable broadband service. After attaching the the ethernet cable from the modem to the computer it give an IP configuration alert. "xx.xxx.xxx.104 in use by 0:b:46:bd:8:ed, DHCP Server xx.xxx.xxx.126"

I just tried to send my first fax on my G5, and I'm not sure it went through. Are you supposed to hear the sounds of the modem dialing when it faxes? Is there any confirmation? It said it was faxing it, but the job is still on hold. Can someone please help! Thanks ;-).

Fortunately, I have AppleCare--it's great and saves a lot of grief. My PB G4 started, out of the blue, putting out garbage as I typed. The first thing I did was try to restart, but it typed garbage when I tried to enter my username and password.
