When my Linux system had a hardware crash I went out and got myself a
Mac PowerBook G4 (OSX 10.3.3) and
I am trying to figure out how I can do some of my Linux stuff on it. One
of  the things I want to do is automatically

What cards will work on my PB 1400?  Is there an 802.11g card that will work?
Saw one at Home Depot the other day for $39.00 but did not say anything about
working with less than 10.x.  I am running 8.5.

except that service, and there is no external indication.
Web sharing through firewall?04 Aug 2004 23:48 GMT4
I have a 2Wire DSL modem/router. OS9. I tried web sharing for the first
time but it didn't work. I'm guessing it is a router firewall problem.
I turned on web sharing in the controll panel. It gave me an IP of
172.16.x.xx . That is different from the IP I am actually hooked up to

Need a piece of code (or Applescript or whatever) to repeatedly    dump my dynamic IP address to an FTP site02 Aug 2004 16:53 GMT26
I'm a biologist with a number of Macs in the lab running OS X. One of my
Macs has a static IP address, so I can access it from home. The others have
dynamic addresses. I figure, one way for me to access them from home is to
run a little program on each one which would, every 30 ...
how bad is WEP really?02 Aug 2004 13:42 GMT9
Since WDS would be useful in my wireless network, I'm considering
switching from WPA to WEP (WDS doesn't work with WPA on Airports).
Theory aside, looking at the matter realistically, just how bad is
WEP? Take for granted that the 128-bit password will not be guessable
unable to access ftp site02 Aug 2004 05:53 GMT3
I am having trouble using Interarchy to access my web site, stored on

I would like to know if it's possible to sucessfully download
