I have this problem for a while now and I can't find a solution.
If I connect OS-X with NFS to a Linux or FreeBSD server it's 5 times
slower than connecting with Samba or AFP to the same server.
If I connect with other than OS-X clients there is no problem, only

I work in a small office with a PC-based peer-to-peer network.  A Mac

the Mac user copies a file to the network folder, a strange (to me)

I just got a Rio Cali mp3 player. I would like to organize my music into
playlists. I am able to copy mp3s from iTunes playlists directly to the Rio,
however it doesn't recognize the iTunes playlists. It simply loads
everything as one big list at the root level.

Last night I used my external hard drive as the boot drive on a friend's
computer. Now I have a menulet icon for Bluetooth as the rightmost item in
the menu bar and I have no Bluetooth devices. How do I get rid of it?

For some reason, I often get these extraneous alert sounds when iCab
2.9.8 is running.  Not always, just sometimes.  It stops when I quit
