| Safari can't handle https | 30 May 2004 01:29 GMT | 37 |
My copy of Safari can't open any https. It is version 1.2.1, which I think is the most recent one. Following a tip on a previous post, I ran a command line that created a Debug menu on Safari. At the bottom of it, there's an option that lists supported protocols, but https is

I've set up PostFix and a mailserver on a dynamic IP'ed 10.3.3 machine (using a dyndns.org account) and can successfully send and receive email. So far so good. I used PostFix enabler and configured it to use the "OS X built-in user accounts."

| mystery of the vanishing internet | 26 May 2004 02:29 GMT | 8 |
I see the internet via sbcglobal DSL using a SpeedStream DSL modem and a Netgear router which is doing PPPoE (so that my computers just use DHCP). Every so often (once a week?) the internet completely vanishes (e.g. if I try to go to a web site in a browser, Safari just "hangs"),

| Free FTP space somewhere? | 25 May 2004 16:57 GMT | 15 |
Looking for FTP space to put a few files up for friends. My ISP has changed its servers and now only allows HTTP pages to be served up. I know I can build a web page with links to the files, but I'd rather just have some place to FTP them and provide friends with a URL.

| Virtual PC installation error | 25 May 2004 13:00 GMT | 1 |
Virtual PC 6 won't install on my 500 MhZ 256MB Ibook. At the end of the installation process it says 'An unknown error has occurred -3'. There's 6.5 GB free on the hard disk, which is more than the installation program reports it needs (2 GB). There was a previous

It's happening again: MT-NW 3.4 is showing me the same messages in misc.int-property and gnu.misc.discuss, even though I have the option enabled to "Don't show articles that have been read in another group". Whenever this fails, it always seems to be these two groups. Here's ...

| Q: Airport Base Station causing interference with FM radio | 23 May 2004 19:24 GMT | 1 |
My Airport Extreme Base Station is causing interference when listening to FM radio. I confirmed it was the Airport by powering it down. It's annoying because I often tape off the radio and to get a clear recording I now need to shut off my network!! Not too convenient :(

| Mail and IMAP rules | 22 May 2004 20:51 GMT | 6 |
It seems that I can't use a rule in Mail to direct an incoming message to an IMAP folder. Is this true, or have I done something wrong?
