Syncing Motorola v60i31 Oct 2003 18:52 GMT2
I can transfer addresses and calendar entries to my phone, but addresses
on the phone end up sorted by first name, not last.
There seems to be no provision for changing this order on the phone.
Changing the display order in Address Book doesn't make a difference to
OS9.1 backup...not warez31 Oct 2003 17:25 GMT5
I just bought a PowerCurve 150 off ebay, and it arrived with just enough of
OS9.1 installed to boot.  No control panels, no extensions, no apps, nothing
but a system folder.  Where does this put me legally, as far as system
software goes?  I know I can download up to 7.5.5 for free ...
Please, please, please......31 Oct 2003 05:26 GMT2
Suddenly, for the past week, I cannot get my mail with Outlook
Express. The mail is THERE; I've checked it on the web based email. I
can SEND email (I tested this with the web, also). My isp is NO help at
all (in fact, I'm planning to switch). They offered to try to fix it if
Window Size Problems in iCab31 Oct 2003 01:34 GMT7
How can I get iCab windows to open wide enough to reveal the entire web
page content?  I am using the most recent version for OSX with Panther
and I constantly have to resize windows to view all of the content.

FirstClass or OSX mail server?30 Oct 2003 19:59 GMT3
I've been recommending FirstClass as an email
server for a long time - but with Panther
coming out - I'm wondering if anyone has
an opinion on moving from Centrinity's
G5 doesn't allow ftp/ssh access when asleep30 Oct 2003 15:40 GMT9
Every other Mac I have had so far has allowed ftp access when asleep (I
run a mail server and and a list server under ASIP 5.0 on a 8500 running
OS 8.1 and also run Netpresenz on an 8600 running OS 9.1.
Now I have a brand new G5 running 10.2.8 and it won't wake up for
3rd party Rendezvous-compatible wireless routers?30 Oct 2003 08:15 GMT7
I've just confirmed that, although my SMC 7004AWBR router passes
AppleTalk just fine between the wireless and wired sides, it definitely
does NOT pass Rendezvous.  This is non-intuitive, since Rendezvous is
advertised as being TCP/IP friendly.  Whatever.
Software Router for OS X ?30 Oct 2003 06:50 GMT14
Is there a software router for OS X? I've done a web search, but all I
found was geeRoute, and it doesn't do what I need.

Panther and Mail.app weirdness29 Oct 2003 22:50 GMT8
I've been pretty happy with Panther so far, but Mail.app is doing some weird
things for me.  Wondering if anyone else is seeing this.
1. If you Organize by Thread, you sometimes get unrelated articles grouped in
the same thread.  The titles have nothing in common.  Not sure why ...
How do I share a printer and internet between computers?28 Oct 2003 16:06 GMT5
At home we have an 333mhz iMac and 12" PowerBook G4.  I was wondering
how I could be able to share my cable internet connection and printer
between the two computer?
I am thinking about using AirPort, so that the PowerBook can be able
long hangs using Eudora28 Oct 2003 06:24 GMT1
I am having long hangs when using Eudora on my iMac G4 with flat
screen.  I've used Eudora on a variety of Macs since 1993 and have
never had this problem before.  I was clearing its cache about the
time the trouble began, and I wonder whether I accidentally deleted
Mail - search headers?28 Oct 2003 06:17 GMT4
Is there any way to search message headers in Panther's Mail?  Combating
spam is impossible without this feature.  It's back to Eudora unless
somebody knows the trick.
Panther 10.3: Does Mac wake from sleep from incoming fax?28 Oct 2003 01:16 GMT1
Does anyone know if under Mac OS X 10.3 Panther, a Mac wakes up from
deep sleep when an incoming fax arrives? Otherwise the fax
functionality would be pretty useless to me as my Mac sleeps mostly
during office hours.
How to check IP address at startup?28 Oct 2003 00:25 GMT6
My OS X 10.1.5 sometimes gets an incorrect IP from the DHCP on my DI-604
router. In binary, the address looks sort of, but not quite, like a
correct address that has been bit-shifted--a few bits (not at the
shift-in end of the address) don't match as well.
External HD disappeared (OSX)28 Oct 2003 00:00 GMT1
Hello all, I recently made the jump from 9.2.2 to 10.2 and everything was rosy
at first. After about 10 days my external hard drive stopped mounting. On
startup I get a message that says "A disk attempting to mount as unknown has
failed verification" etc. and tells me to launch disk ...
