Up until fairly recently, Apple's iMacs were fairly competitive price
wise with a similarly spec'd Dell PC. This no longer seems to be the
case!
Currently for $1200 you can get a Dell Insiron 530s Desktop

I would like to buy a new Mac, is there places that has interest free with
GE that you can pay off monthly? Like where you would be an item from Harvey
Norman?

Love my new 20" iMac, and generally it works well.  One hassle tho is

Just wondering if anyone here has ever played with replacing the noisy
power supply fans in a MDD G4 PowerMac?  I've finally had enough of the
noise - even my housemate's PC over in the other corner of the room
doesn't even make HALF as much racket as this thing.

I have a Canon digital camera that recognises when the camera is in landscape
or portrait mode, and includes in the picture file with the right orientation.
Most applications seem to recognise this.
However, the camera sometimes gets it wrong, and flags a picture as portrait

Great, I thought, but checking the size of the 2 files (non-.dmg, the the
converted .dmg file) , the .dmg file size is a bigger.

Has anyone had a chance to try the new aluminium iMac with the glass

I upgraded my iPhoto to the new 08 version (iPhoto 7.1).
Whenever I try to open the Preferences, the app freezes - I get the

To find the size of a file, one uses Get Info. Fine. A window
comes up with all the details, including file size.
If one selects three files and does the same, three info windows come up.
