I have now noticed that windows media player is not working since my upgrade to 10.4 either Firewire drive did come up on the desktop today and after opening it it then crashed.

Just upgraded to 10.4 from 10.9 and now the system does not see my external firewire drive. If after startup I turn the drive off then on it mounts on the desktop but if I double click on it it just goes into a endless beach ball spin.
