Anyone else having trouble with this? When it runs it says it can't
connect to the network - which is running fine. Started when the 10.4.7
Updates became available - Apple's servers overloaded perhaps?
Downloaded the 4.7 and Quicktime updates direct from Apple's site OK,

just joined aim account to get things going.
But finding people to chat  I cant seem to find anyone.

Earlier in this forum I sought info on connecting a new Apple 23
display via DVI to an old G4. Well, I have it, and the adapter DVI to
ADC works. I guess more professional people than I knew that. And oh
what a difference a few inches makes, esp on the eyes.

Hello to all,
Could anyone recommend a good Newsreader for an Intal Mac.
I am about to get a new Macbook to replace the aging G4 powerbook.
Also a friend just got a 20 inch core duo, so need to set him up as well.

I   am  considering to get a new 23 inch display for my G4 Quicksilver
(nearly 5 years old). I guess the G4 will be VGA output, and the specs
for the display say DVI.
Will a converter plug, DVI to VGA, work OK ?  Will I lose much in the

I am sharing files on my 2 Macs.
One is a G5 POWERMAC 1.8 DUAL and the other is my G4 PowerBook.
It is working the sharing thing, but I thought u had to drop files in that
"drop box" thing.

Anyone have a copy (soft/hard) of the Mac OS 7.6.1 Installation Manual they
would like to sell?
Even just a photocopy of it would be fine.
And yes, my copy of Mac OS 7.6.1 is an original.

Im pretty new to Macs and I was wanting to buy one for the purposes of video
editing. Obviously the faster the better is laways the case but what would
be the minimum I would want for video editing with Final Cut Pro?

I cannot get my work PC or WM5 PDA to connect to my APE network.
The PC and PDA see the network and the PC seems to get the IP  address,
however can't get to a web page.

I was wondering can you set up a Hotmail account with the "Mail" program?
