Software Update30 Jun 2006 13:52 GMT3
Anyone else having trouble with this? When it runs it says it can't
connect to the network - which is running fine. Started when the 10.4.7
Updates became available - Apple's servers overloaded perhaps?
Downloaded the 4.7 and Quicktime updates direct from Apple's site OK,

New display connection29 Jun 2006 01:39 GMT3
Earlier in this forum I sought info on connecting a new Apple 23
display via DVI to an old G4. Well, I have it, and the adapter DVI to
ADC works. I guess more professional people than I knew that. And oh
what a difference a few inches makes, esp on the eyes.

Could anyone recommend a good Newsreader for an Intal Mac.
I am about to get a new Macbook to replace the aging G4 powerbook.
Also a friend just got a 20 inch core duo, so need to set him up as well.
New display to old Mac query25 Jun 2006 08:27 GMT6
I   am  considering to get a new 23 inch display for my G4 Quicksilver

Will a converter plug, DVI to VGA, work OK ?  Will I lose much in the

Failing that, would it be possible to buy one from the US and find a
power cable thing for it that would work here?

Setting up a Hotmail account with "Mail".....15 Jun 2006 14:25 GMT3
I was wondering can you set up a Hotmail account with the "Mail" program?
I tried to set up  a 2nd account , password etc and it did not work.
I see on the set up you have 3 choices as to what sort of account it is.
I chose "POP" but I think that is wrong.
Network questions13 Jun 2006 00:07 GMT45
I'm a long-time Mac-user, but completely new to networking. Because of the
location of the Big Pond cable node in my new unit, I've established a
wireless network. I bought a NetComm NP 642 PCI card, and their NB600W
router, both of which support 108mbps communication. I had to ...

login page.
